The game must be good as complete by now, it's unlikely that it won't get released. It's not like it's a game that's only just begun production.
Metro: Last Light removed from GameStop Impulse

Retailer pulls PC version of action shooter from digital store in an effort to protect consumers during THQ bankruptcy uncertainty; refunds available.
The downloadable PC version of Metro: Last Light has been pulled from GameStop Impulse. GameStop vice president of public and investor relations Matt Hodges told GameSpot that the company removed the game to protect consumers amid the ongoing uncertainty involving the future of publisher THQ.
"Essentially, due to THQ's current financial situation and uncertainty of delivery, in order to protect our consumers we removed the ability to pre-purchase that specific game," Hodges said.
Gamers who have already prepurchased the game can receive a refund by calling GameStop customer service. Physical copies of Metro: Last Light for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC remain available to preorder through GameStop's main website. It is not clear if GameStop intends to pull these versions of the game sometime in the future.
A GameSpot reader tipped the news, saying they prepurchased a copy of the game and it remains in their "My Games" list. However, the specific Metro: Last Light product page is no longer functional.
Other upcoming THQ games, including South Park: The Stick of Truth and Company of Heroes 2, are not listed on GameStop Impulse.
THQ's bankruptcy auction, should one be necessary, will take place January 22 at 3 p.m. EDT in Wilmington, Delaware. Up for grabs are THQ studios and properties. These include Relic Entertainment (Company of Heroes), Volition Inc. (Saints Row), former Assassin's Creed director Patrice Desilets' THQ Montreal (unknown), and Vigil Games (Darksiders).

Metro: Last Light is a single player only game... Unfortunately nowadays it is twice as difficult for single-player games to find publishers

Yeah I've already decided not to get this title for the simple fact that even if it launches okay, the post launch support will likely be poor if they have any. I mean you can expect there won't be much in the way of patches or new content for the game.
8 Like Metro 2033 was one of the most criminally underrated games of 2010, and hands down one of the most beautiful on PC (the graphics had to be tremendously toned back on console, and still had a lot more bugs than the PC version). I'd be incredibly sad to see this one fall through when it has so much potential.
I saw this at a gamestop but until the title screen appeared everyone crowded the TV and half of them said it has to be Call of Duty.

1 Like Its alwsys sad when companies go into financial troubles and the employees has to suffer as an result. Metro, I've enjoyed the previous game and was looking forwarded to playing this one also, I am going to pre-order anyway and wait to see what happens. Sad!.
1 Like Damn, I've ben longing for this game ever since i heard of it, you rarely find games with such detail and atmosphere as metro 2033. If this game was to be cancelled now it'd be quite the disappointment.

@Sefrix Of course a business will say that, the building could be burning around them and they would say that. It doesn't really mean anything, who knows what will happen over the next couple of months.
@Sefrix Because that kind of announcement "Work will continue as normal" has resulted in cancelled games in the past and created lots of headaches for Gamestop.
Do you think it might get delayed and published by another developer? The games basically finished, so there's no way they'd cancel it now.
@ChiefFreeman It wouldn't be the first game that was done and canned. Hell Battlefront 3 was supposedly done.

1 Like I deleted my comments because I refuse to argue with ignorant people over whats suppose to be a fun and open comment/forum.. I enjoyed Metro 2033 a ton on PC but because I am more comfortably physically playing on console i would much rather play it on ps3 or xbox. I really hope that the issues going on with THQ's financials does not delay Metro Last Light because the game looks amazing. Remember, "Ignorance is Bliss, Knowledge is Power"

Wonder if the dev 4A Games is still developing Metro LL?
If not, perhaps THQ could sell the IP and all work so far to someone else, and do it now please. Gearbox seems the shelter for wayward games, maybe they'll pick it up. I'd be totally fine with that.
@Konuvis If the gamemakers go under, everyone who pre-ordered it loses their money, regardless of the physical state of the product.
1 Like @Konuvis No one has seen a physical copy either. I suspect that the only reason why physical pre-orders were not yanked is because GameStop doesn't charge for them until they are shipped. The PC download version is charged when the order is placed, and GS needs to refund if the game never comes out.

1 Like @billlabowski @Konuvis I love GOG but with GOG you download the .exe and you're free to do as you please so it's almost like a physical copy. The problem lies when publishers host the games or when you need to be logged in to a service to acces it.
@Konuvis I know and I also think like that. I always buy games that I will want to play for years to come and I actually still sometimes play my earliest PC game (Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight, from 1997). That's why I choose GoG if the game is the same price or cheaper as on Steam. That's also one reason why I only play singleplayer games, they don't get worse when people stop playing them and you can't shut them down because of a lack of players. Steam isn't perfect, but I rarely buy anything if it's not on sale, so I make sure to get the most out of my gaming.
@Konuvis Yeah, the need to be logged in is the only thing that I dislike about Steam, but it's no big deal. Since Steam isn't going to disappear anytime soon and they have great prices on their sales, I don't mind waiting for Steam to start before being able to play a game. If GoG has a game cheaper than Steam, I'll choose GoG every time, though, and I'd also choose a physical copy over Steam and GoG if it were noticeably cheaper, but that never happens and I can wait for the sales.

10 Like @billlabowski Steam and GoG are enough for me, don't need other digital distributors and thanks to them I haven't bought a retail game since 2007. I don't mourn the loss of physical discs or paper game manuals either.
