MGR: Revengeance getting PS3-exclusive VR missions

Kojima Productions' latest adding 30 VR Missions inspired by original Metal Gear Solid only for Sony home console.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will look to its past by offering a host of "Virtual Reality" missions exclusively for the PlayStation 3 version of the game, Sony announced today. Thirty new missions, inspired by the original VR missions from the first Metal Gear Solid, will be available as downloadable content for Revengeance.
The VR missions for Revengeance will include a mix of combat training, tactical maneuvering, and stealth. They will take place not in settings from the game's campaign, but rather in all-new spaces. In addition, players will be able to control the Dwarf Gekko in the VR missions.
It is not clear if the VR missions will be available as DLC on launch day or sometime after.
Revengeance is due out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on February 19 in North America. A demo is available today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage of Revengeance.

1 Like Get out of this exclusive DLC habit, it's downright terrible. If you're going to exclude half of the community, then why not make it exclusive in the first place.

@AmongShadows Get your head out of Sony's ass. You'd realise people that have enjoyed MG have played it across various platforms, and many can't be bothered with this console crap anymore. Why the hell would you want to narrow down the community, for elitism? If so, then the PC deserves MG and the other platforms must envy.

A solid idea. What I wouldn't give, though, to have an boss fight mode. Maybe even fight the cyborg ninja's of the past. Grey Fox. Olga, White-Suit Raiden, etc....
Dont suppose they will have any of the VR missions like the one's off the PC version of MGS where you had to solve murder mysteries and battle a 50 foot soldier with a rocket launcher
Wishing that there will be a VR mission where you play as Snake like the VR disk of the first MGS.

in the VR missions of the first MGS there was a mission where you play as Greyfox hunting Snake.I hope they will make a similar mission.
5 Like I like these politicians blaming video games. I've been playing video games for over 20years and not once did I feel the need to shoot anyone.
Bit of a shame, I was hoping I wouldn't have to get this for the PS3, as my PS3 is kinda not working well.
Then get the 360 version. They're just challenge missions - probably something that they assigned the intern to design over the weekend.

10 Like Power of bluray. If you've got both systems you got to go ps3, even regardless of this feature. Kojima games always have great audio. Ps3 uncompressed, Xbox compressed to sht.
@Heirren And yet, quite a few titles just run better on the 360. I'll make my purchasing decision on that, rather than uncompressed audio, any day.
@Heirren Translation: Hey you guys with an Xbox and like it, I want to point out to you that your version is missing content mine does. Why? Because I get pleasure out of letting people know their product is inferior. Hope you feel cruddy and buy it on PS3 instead because I personally prefer Sony made consoles.

No, not really. I have both consoles; I. Fact many people have both consoles. There just tends to be this stigma on bluray being worthless when it is in fact not. When these consoles arrived it was all about high end this and high end that. Ps3 offers immensely better audio output.
With the bigger production and theatrics of modern game design, I don't think it is pointless to point out that ps3 offers the only option for true high end audio. Can you still enjoy the game? Of course. I've got a wii, as well, and think the Galaxy games are two of the best this gen.
On the other hand, I'd be lying if the audio AND visual experience of a game like Uncharted 2/3 didn't heighten the overall experience.
@Heirren That's a bit of a strange logic you have there. There's no reason the 360 version could have had multiple discs instead. Do you have anything to confirm your claim?

Arching to confirm my claim? 360 titles this entire gen have compressed audio. The bulk of the ps3 library is lossless. Anybody with a decent audio setup will tell you there's a discernible difference.
@Heirren really we still on the blu ray when its been irrelevant for like the longest everything going digital now blu ray is irrelevant
