What I would love would be a PC version of Shadow Complex. I always really liked the look of it but not having a 360 means I can't play it.
More Shadow Complex teased
Chair creative director says studio intends to return to downloadable 2D side-scrolling shooter franchise in the future.
Upon its launch on Xbox Live Arcade in 2009, Shadow Complex received more than just solid reviews. Though it was later eclipsed, Chair Entertainment's side-scrolling shooter set a single-player sales record on Microsoft's online service for the Xbox 360, selling more than 200,000 copies within a week of launch.
For most, big sales and solid reviews clearly add up to a sequel. However, for those still doubting a follow-up, Chair's creative director, Donald Mustard, has given fans of the original something a bit more substantial to hold onto. Speaking to Eurogamer, Mustard said that it's only a matter of time before more Shadow Complex arrives.
"I'll put it this way," Mustard said. "More Shadow Complex isn't a question of if, it's a question of when. Shadow Complex is our baby and we love it dearly and, y'know, we're working on some cool stuff [in general]. That's all I can say."
Responding to a request for comment, a Chair representative told GameSpot, "Shadow Complex is an extension of our Empire IP, and naturally we are always looking for ways to expand that universe, as well as our other gameworlds. In this case, Donald was just referring to ideas they have for how that could be done. No new games have been announced."
Shadow Complex drew comparisons to Nintendo's Super Metroid line of 2D side-scrolling action adventure games upon its release in 2009. The game melds high-intensity shooting with intricate exploration and puzzle-solving elements.
