Mortal Kombat: Legacy hits November 8
Nine-episode Web series collected for Blu-ray anthology later this year at a $20 price point; 30 minutes of bonus features included.
This week's arrival of Freddy Krueger as a downloadable character for Mortal Kombat might mark the end of the announced add-ons for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 fighter, but franchise fans with a taste for more gore still have something on the horizon. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment still has the Arcade Kollection debuting in the coming months, and Warner Premiere today announced a Blu-ray debut for its Mortal Kombat: Legacy Web series.
Set for release November 8, the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Blu-ray includes all nine episodes of the live-action series, as well as an extra 30 minutes of bonus content, including interviews and behind-the-scenes clips. The package also includes featurettes dedicated to the series' fights, weapons, super powers, and unabashed Mortal Kombat fanatic/director Kevin Tancharoen.
The Web series focuses on a small number of characters in each episode, with spotlighted characters including Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Cyrax, Sektor, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Mileena, Jax, Sonya, and Kano. The Blu-ray will launch with a $20 price tag attached.
