NBA Baller Beats thumping on Kinect
Motion-sensing game to test player skills with a real basketball, set for release this fall with soundtrack sporting Kanye West, Run DMC, and more.
Majesco is taking a new approach for NBA fans who don't find the current crop of games on the market realistic enough for their liking. The publisher today announced NBA Baller Beats for the Xbox 360, a Kinect-exclusive title that will require players to dribble an actual basketball.
Set for release this fall, NBA Baller Beats is billed as a test of players' ballhandling skills that uses the Kinect camera to track dribbles, crossovers, pump fakes, and other moves. Gamers will pick their favorite NBA team, choose whether to practice alone or take on friends in multiplayer for up to eight, and then bounce to a soundtrack featuring Kanye West, Run DMC, Them Crooked Vultures, Common, and more.
NBA Baller Beats is in development at HB Studios. Based in Nova Scotia, Canada, the outfit has been making games since 2000, with a wealth of experience making cricket and rugby titles. HB Studios has previous experience with basketball as well, having developed several versions of the NBA Live series for secondary platforms between 2007 and 2009.
