Neo Geo getting new handheld
SNK Playmore gives license for Neo Geo portable system; hardware to come preloaded with 20 games including King of Fighters '94, Samurai Shodown, and Metal Slug.
SNK's Neo Geo may be gone, but the arcade-based console is far from forgotten. SNK Playmore is licensing its name and rights on a new portable console that plays Neo Geo games.
According to a post on Famicom Plaza, the portable device has a 4.3-inch screen and two gigabytes of internal storage, and it contains 20 Neo Geo titles. The games are the North American versions of World Heroes, Ultimate 11, Top Player's Golf, Sengoku, NAM-1975, Mutation Nation, Last Resort, King of Monsters, Frenzy, Cyber Lip, Fatal Fury Special, Art of Fighting, Super Sidekicks, League Bowling, Metal Slug, Magician Lord, Baseball Stars Professional, Samurai Shodown, The King of Fighters '94, and Fatal Fury.
The portable gaming device measures at 170x72x15mm and comes with a 2200mAh battery. The device's inputs consist of a control pad, four face buttons, and four shoulder buttons. Other controls include a volume and brightness button, a menu button, and a start button. The device also has a headphone and AV port, along with an SD memory card slot.
Currently, there are no details on a price or release date.
