Nintendo launching limited edition blue-black bundle in United States beginning December 2 at $200.
Beginning December 2 in the United States, Nintendo will introduce a new blue-black limited edition 3DS XL bundle that includes a preinstalled copy of Mario Kart 7 for $200. Purchased separately, gamers would pay $200 for the system and $40 for the game. A similar bundle is available in the United Kingdom.
Mario Kart 7 launched in North America on December 4, 2011. It has sold 5.24 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2012.
Just last week, Nintendo introduced a new flame red Black Friday 3DS bundle that included a preinstalled copy of Super Mario 3D land for $170.
The Mario maker enjoyed a prosperous Black Friday period, with the 3DS moving 250,000 units and DS devices shifting another 275,000 during the week.

I stop buying portable gaming system for two main reasons.
1) You can't find deep serious games that you find in PC or consoles.
2) DS series is always behind in capability and graphic quality (Basically too much limitation that only kids probably won't notice; I don't have time to waste on it).

I only bought the DS day one because I was so excited to play FFIII on it, I just couldn't wait. And I bought the 3DS day one because of OOT3D and because I thought they wouldn't make any more models/editions of it...how wrong I was >_<
This will apply to all consoles. NEVER BUY THE 1ST EDITION OF ANY CONSOLE! Always wait for the eventual better and cheaper versions xD
Sorry, but Mario Kart is not going to get me to buy a 3DS. I already have both versions, but if I didn't I wouldn't be enticed. But I don't like racing games so my opinion has become less relevant.
I just think these handhelds are just too overpriced. At $200, you could have gotten a new Xbox with two games this past weekend.

2 Like @Rivboets7 @SangheliZealotX The Vita lacks quality games atm, So far the only thing its really good at is importing ps1/ps2 games from the PSN store. Other than that, I heard Persona is the best game for that system.

I read that a price drop is coming for the 3DS XL really soon, so I think I'll just wait for that. I want the XL, but I don't want to pay the high prices.

I don't even care about the Mario Kart game. They are all the same anyways. The price on the other hand sounds like a pretty good deal.
3 Like Sucks the game is preinstalled, once that game gets deleted you have to buy it again. Unless nintendo has some way of saying you own the game, which I doubt.
@fester420 Maybe since it's pre-installed that it cannot be delete. I would be interesting to know.
@fester420 The games you purchase and download are linked to "Your Downloads" section at the eShop. Now I believe this is base on the device one uses, but I could be wrong.

Getting one for my little brother this Christmas. I already bought Steel Diver, and was going to get him Super Mario 3Dland so this makes a good third game.
I don't think I like the idea of the game being pre-installed. If your DS breaks, do you lose the game too?

I wouldn't mind having a 3DS for a few of the games, but the 3D effect is awful so I'd turn it off and the price is still too high. It would've been better if they'd just made a followup to the original DS and kept the price down rather than including the expensive-yet-pointless 3D effects. Nintendo has been mistaking gimmicks for innovation for far too long I'm not sure how much longer they can keep it up.
@TheAgingGamer No one really cares about the 3D element. Its the games that make the 3DS a strong portable.
If Nintendo were to have that 3DS XL Charizard Edition, I would have consider it buying that [even if I have already got a 3DS XL] and this is not a bad deal for those of you who don't own a 3DS. If your going to buy a 3DS hear is my advice, get the XL you want be dissapointed I Promise you that.
@EasyComeEasyGo I saw that Charizard Edition. Japan only, distributed by lottery. Japan get's all the awesome "Special Edition" colors and sets. So I'm stuck with....red. Still an awesome system, at least.
