Disney Interactive signs contract with Korean developer Smilegate for upcoming multiplayer online battle arena title; will be out in 2014.
The multiplayer online battle arena space dominated by DOTA 2 and League of Legends may have a new contender.
According to site MMO Culture, Disney Interactive has signed a contract with Korean developer Smilegate (Crossfire) to create a MOBA title using characters from comic property Marvel. The game, dubbed Project PK, will only be targeted for Asian markets and will be out in 2014.

I live in Asia, Korea, actually. This is the epicenter of online games. I don't like playing them cause the Koreans will clean your clock. They play for hours at PC bangs and they usually only play one game for years and thus become experts. I ask my students what games they play. Used to be Starcraft. These days it's LOL.
2014??? too long to wait.. i hope it is free but have the options to purchase just like the DC Universe Online game..
Good. More is better and options are what people clamor for in other less relevant circles, so bring us new games worth playing, even if they are nerfed to mere battle arenas.
why not 2013 It's DAmn amazing idea they can make a lot money on skins especially on Iron man and spider man, Gonna keep eye on this :D
This could be vary cool if done right.I'm a little disappointed that it wont release in the west, but I've wondered why Disney didn't try to bring Marvel to the MOBA scene. It's the fastest growing genre and the Marvel universe would work pretty well.
4 Like I've never been a fan of LOL or DOTA, frankly coz I'm too lazy to learn each character's "intricacies". But with the Marvel Universe (or DCU, for that matter), hmm, I could be down with this.
Developer Gazillion Entertainment announces Marvel Heroes will be released this spring for PC; a Mac version of the action RPG is also in the works.
