New Mass Effect 3 co-op DLC uses single-player data

Bioware made Kotor 1,Mass Effect,Mass Effect 2,Dragon Age: Origins,and Dragon Age: Origins Awakening.EAware made Mass effect 3,Dragon age 2,and star wars the old republic and all 3 games destroyed the franchises and Bioware .To bad they didn't become like world renown badass companies like Rocksteady,Rockstar,Gearbox,Bungie,Naughty Dog and even Ubisoft.Oh well I'm going to go back and play Borderlands 2 have fun playing games from a milked franchise.

p.s. Even though EA turned Bioware to Eaware and destroyed their franchises and their reputation Mass effect will always be greatest game series in gaming history

Posting on Something Awful, he tells a tantalising tale of Dark Energy, species preservation and humanity's unique genetic advantages, touched on at several points in Mass Effect 1 and 2. You might remember Dark Energy from the Haelstrom mission in Mass Effect 2, or from the Arrival DLC. According to various growly internet hintings, it makes the Reapers look about as menacing as a slightly wilted Greek salad.

"The Reapers' goal was to find a way to stop the spread of Dark Energy which would eventually consume everything. That's why there was so much foreshadowing about Dark Energy in ME," Karpyshyn wrote.

"The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of its genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping Dark Energy's spread.

"The original final choice was going to be 'Kill the Reapers and put your faith in the races of the galaxy in finding another way to stop the spread with what little time is left' or 'Sacrifice humanity, allowing them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will justify the means.'

@PureSophistry Actually, sloppy journalism is the blog post you link to.  Single-player co-op is a contradiction of terms, and the story cites (and quotes) the original Reddit post as where co-op was clearly stated.

@Parelinor I think a prequel would be cool, it doesn't bother me that your choices wouldn't carry over. Incorporating every decision from the past three games into a sequel would be a tremendous task. They could do something with the Rachni Wars, or the First Contact War, or even something from one of the books.

@Parelinor I think you might be wrong: The fact that you made certain decisions in the first 3 games, will make it possible to push 'your' prequel story a certain way. The biggest problem is that you know what will be happening which makes the experience possibly much less interesting...

But I think your right.  If the rumor proves to be true, there won't be any changes that will turn the single player around.  But hey, the dlc I would ever buy for ME would be the super special edition of  a remake single player in the spirit of ME1 and ME2.  There is still money to be made EA!!!

@Lizkimo They did it a very long time ago with Baldur's Gate multiplayer. I'm fairly certain they can think of a way to do it now.

@AurikenI hardly believe those against the endings were a minority. I myself was one of them who heavily criticized the ending (especially here on Gamespot . There were a lot of problems with the ending.WHY does the size of an army determine whether or not Shepard lives or dies? That doesn't make sense at all. Furthermore, why does Shepard die at all? Why couldn't there be a "happy ending" where they all regroup and rebuild together and he can be with his true love and at peace? This is not a matter of it making sense, but a matter of how limited and restricted fans were to make their own ending.WHY does every ending have the same cutscenes with only a slight color variation? Of course, we're led to assume: yes, you control the Reapers/yes, all organics and AI are one now/ yes, the Reapers are destroyed. But fans don't want to assume and imagine for themselves: they want to SEE IT.But I think my biggest pet peeve is why did this all happen at all? I've heard various stories: the original writer for 1 and 2 left, only a few select writers knew about the ending. It does't really matter. SOMEONE made the decision to not review that ending before sending the final product out. I can't imagine everyone in Bioware/EA sat down, saw that ending and went, "Yeah, that's going to be good." They had to know, regardless of how much sense it made, that it would SUCK. And that's exactly what happened: the ending was a colossal failure.But THEN, when you thought it was all over: they released DLC. The funny thing about the extended edition is that, while it was designed to explain the ending, all it really did was explain why their ending sucked so much. Ok, the ending makes a little more sense now: that doesn't make it a good ending (revert to the last paragraph). Leviathan, the apparent creators of the Reapers came into play, and now there was a chance at deactivating Reaper after Reaper through the minds of these creatures. But they never showed up to fight apparently AND, when it becomes a dialogue option with the god-child (the only time it appears in the final mission) that little smart-a$$ son of b#$%h has an answer for that too, hence dismissing the whole point of the DLC altogether ..To date, Omega (despite not having any impact on the ending other than being a number in your army) is the ONLY thing Mass Effect 3 related I have liked. Wasn't the best storyline, but at least it worked.Now they're making ANOTHER DLC and while I have some hope restored thanks to Omega, it's less than 50% anticipation.AND THEN they're going to make a Mass Effect 4!?!? Are you kidding me? Aside from the fact that they had the audacity to ask if fans preferred a sequel or a prequel (something they should be able to figure out on their own but can't because they KNOW they ruined the series all together), the whole idea is ridiculous. A prequel doesn't make sense because we all know what happens and ultimately that ruins the whole experience (especially because we all know the outcome is disappointing). A sequel is stupid because what villain, regardless of however many years later, is going to top the Reapers? Unless the villain's creators...oh wait, that's leviathan and I don't want to touch that topic again....I don't think you realize the gravity of how badly that ending ruined the series. It made everything such a disappointment  All those memorable characters, all those epic moments, it's all for nothing. There is no true triumph in the end.You claim the control/synthesis endings were indoctrination. But we all know that's not true because Bioware dismissed the whole indoctrination theory. Which brings us back to what I was getting at in my original post. The indoctrination theory could have saved their lazy a$$es big time and they chose to make their ending even worse than it was upon release.So when they ask about Mass Effect 4, I laugh and say make nothing. Forget about this series. Leave it alone. Let it be forgotten and die away in the pages of history of one of gaming's greatest failures. Make a new series all together.These "simpletons" and "retards" you speak of are not just whiners and complainers. These were fans who truly shared a love for this series that are upset and disappointed with this once proud and grand universe that has fallen at the hands of three distinct colors. When you learn of such a disappointment that definitely could have been avoided, you lose respect for those responsible.That is the story of Mass Effect. This is now their legacy.

@Auriken If for those people the game (or games in this situation) sucked when they played and finished, you wont expect all of them 1 or 2 years or X years later to change they're minds regarding the fact that the game was bad

@Auriken  Without that..."whining"...then the devs can make any bull crap they want because no one is complaining. Just look at all the Call of Duty games that come out and people dont complain and there games are ALL the same with no innovation and creativity.
