New York Comic-Con: Overlord Dark Legend Impressions

this game is gonna be sweet. first one was awesome.

Looks neat...sorta' like Pikmin with little demons instead of flowers.

The graphics look nice........ For the Wii that is. When is this game coming out?!? Also can you choose not to use your little goblins? I'd rather fight on my own Zelda style. >:)

Should tide people over till pikmin3 arrives. I personally would have loved a muppet babies themed Overlord so I could throw baby Ms. Piggy to her doom, but I guess I'll have to wait till later.

this just looks so sweet... I just wonder why the graph looks like it's seen from the inside of an orb XD (look at how the sides of the monitor stretches O_O )

Great, 2009 is just starting and it is already awesome for the wii

shadowysea07, I'd have thought that the pointer controls would work much better for this type of game than old analogue controls. You'll be able to direct your minions with much faster precision. Going by some of the other comments posted it seems like they think that every single Wii game is for under 5's, yet there has been 3 good M rated games released already in February (Tenchu, HOD: Overkill, Deadly Creatures) and a lot more to come with Dead Rising on the 24th and the awesome looking Madworld coming in March. Overlord looks pretty good so far and I wouldn't worry about a little bit of clipping at 0:50; seeing as the game isnt even finished yet.

its good development for wii game's list .... but I still want to play RPG game ... overlord is too intense for me ... seeing my minions die while I can't do anything made me sick ....

blech can't stand he controls for the wii game would probably be better with the option to use regular controls

At 00:50, there was a graphical clipping of the face of the wall of rock. Uh. So the Overlord is 16?? I am expecting a "T" rating for this game, but considering that the premise of the game is such that the lead character is obviously of an evil and mean streak, and that this game is going to parody some fairy tales, ESRB is going to have a hard time rating this game. But I'll be damned if this game comes out right and proper. Though it will also show that Codemasters weren't doing things right for the XBox and PC's Overlord.

This seems like a really fun game compared to what's been coming out on the wii lately, cant wait to choke enemies

Codemasters was demoing the upcoming Overlord game for the Wii, Overlord Dark Legend on the Comic-Con showfloor. The game is a prequel to the Overlord games that we've seen on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and focuses on the youthful adventures of the Overlord. While this might sound like a set up for like "Muppet Babies" or something, it's not. You'll still be tearing up the countryside with your minions and wrecking general havoc. The Codies rep on hand pointed out that the game's been developed from the ground up for the Wii so the game's going to benefit from a nunchuk and remote friendly control system. The work in progress version they were demoing also looked like the graphics were coming together well too. We couldn't get our hands on it yet so we just got an on-camera demo. Look for more on the game later this month from Codemasters' gamer's day, until then check out the video.
