Epic Games preps another update for Xbox 360 shooter, the ESRB rates games previously unconfirmed for US release, and Microsoft drops the price of its driving peripheral.
Next Gears of War update adds achievements
Gamers who think they've done everything in Epic Games' sci-fi third-person shooter Gears of War will soon learn better. Epic Games' Mark Rein posted a note about the game's next update on the company's official forums yesterday, mentioning that it will add new achievements to Annex and the Hidden Fronts downloadable content. In addition, the update will fix exploits and improve the "roadie run," the head-down dash players can use to quickly get behind cover. Rein did not give a time frame as to when the update would be released.
Fatal Fury Special rated for Xbox 360, Actraiser rated for Wii
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has updated its Web site database with several listings (most notably the Halo 2 Vista rating of M for Mature with "brief nudity" in the descriptor list), and the latest batch includes a couple of games previously unconfirmed for domestic release. Fatal Fury Special for the Xbox Live Arcade and Actraiser for the Wii Virtual Console have been confirmed in Japan for some time (Actraiser is actually already available there), but neither game has been confirmed for a domestic release. Fatal Fury Special has been rated T for Teen, while Actraiser is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older.
Microsoft drops Xbox 360 steering wheel price
With Microsoft Game Studios' Forza Motorsport 2 set to arrive in stores next week, the price of the official Xbox 360 steering wheel peripheral has dropped $20. Wait, what? "Brief nudity?" Where? Cortana's hologram? The Arbitor? If there's a T&A shot anywhere in Halo 2 I definitely missed it. Maybe that's what makes the Vista release special. Looks like ol Jack Thompson may be getting some people to listen to him afterall. .... plus I don't see why points are so ijportant. Just play the game and enjoy it.
I think the brief nudity is some guy mooning the user when vista screws up or something. Not entirely sure but I think it's something like that. And I bet a thousand bucks there are sickos out there who were hoping it was Cortana...

dupe576: have you been under a rock or something ? Haven't you read the updated rules for Achievements. 1000G for retail games + 250 for its expansions. It has rules you know. Even the gamesave cheaters (do spit on them!) are tracked.

People complaining about the price of the wheel should go buy the Mad Catz wheel. The Microsoft wheel is nice and wireless to boot. I'm getting one with my Forza 2 preorder.
if it were 129.99 with the game I'd be ok with it but that is just too much money for me to be wasting on only 1 or 2 games!!

You see, Forza 1 was at its best when you went along the dusty offroads when you spin out, and when you bash against another car, and the opponents a.i... etc etc... Its not just about how pretty, sharp or shiny the game looks, forza 2 seems to of gotten a lot of things over gthd. From what I can see - damage is a real biggie over gthd, that has NO car damage. And also, car physics is better on forza 2 when the car takes up some air on small jumps (landings look more realistic) and spin outs etc look a lot better on forza 2. Either way, its a shame both games arent on both systems as they both should have unique enough motifs and elements which make them good. Its a shame we always have to decide on one all the time :(
the steering wheel is still to pricey, drop it to around $70 and I may be interested...
@guardianlegend7, the cover system is useless? That's half the game. I can see why you'd get frustrated with the shotgun though.
Actually the dropped the price $60 on the 360 racing wheel in Canada. Futureshop Best Buy and others are selling it for $99 Canadian and it comes with a special PGR3 (basically drivers and updates included).
I sold my Gears of War today. If they made the shotgun a weapon you had to pick up, instead of something you automatically got when you spawned, the multiplayer would be 10x better. Instead the game seems silly, and the cover system is fairly useless.
forza 2 looks good but it badly needs to get rid of the jagginess in the graphics to make it looks alot smoother ( a la Gran Turismo HD, which owns forza 2 in terms of graphics) but lets face it, forza 2 is gonna have some killer gameplay and online play as well. designing and tuning cars to be sold to other online players is very cool and the idea of possibly seeing and racing against your own creation is very interesting.
I want gow to have vehicles and 8vs8 and more objective based gametypes on multiplayer. The graphics for it are fine.
gears 2 won't have graphics that much better than 1. i know its off-topic but i think they will refine it clean up graphics a little and add more story, because there isn't much you can add to gears, except vehicles or some large team battles

Marvel Ultimate Alliance added 250 points to the achievements, Crackdown added 350 to the achievements, Gears will most likely add 250 as well.
They had better make a shotgun ahievement, and make it like 250 kills because it's too easy otherwise
