Lots of titles head to the DS and GameBoy Advance, but the GameCube is largely overlooked in the run-up to the Wii.
Nintendo has announced the release schedule for the games that we can expect to see in Europe in the next few months.
As you'd expect, the majority of the games will be made available for the DS, and among the top titles are Dr Kawashima's Brain Training (June 9) and New Super Mario Bros. (June 30). Others of note will include Super Princess Peach (May 26), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Chest (June 21), and Big Brain Academy (July 7).
Significant support remains for the Game Boy Advance, with more than 25 games announced. These include Street Racing Syndicate (May 12), X-Men: The Official Game (May 19), Final Fantasy IV Advance (June 2), and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (September 12).
However, with the GameCube being replaced before the end of the year by the Wii as Nintendo's flagship living room console, it has only a few significant titles due for release. Chibi-Robo (May 26), Super Monkey Ball Adventure (June 2), and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (September 12) are among only 12 titles due.
The Cube is still great, it has more than enough great titles to warrant keeping it. BTW, just got a DS lite from China. Man, it is awesome. Anyone want a second hand PSP?
i'm from Europe too, and it sucks that games come later. But here in the Netherlands, there's a mario kart ds competition and you can win a DS Lite! on 27 May! So I dont know how :P but i hope i'll win :D and: rodimus_prime85 ..Why does the rest of the world hate us? What did Europe ever do to the game industry? Why are we always made to wait??? I'd pay the PSP Giga Pack price tag for a DS lite if only I could just have it now... Thank god for Ebay. World War 2? the WW2 is not because of whole europe, because of germany ;)
nintendo doesn't treat us the worst (UK here) its Squaresoft that by FAR screws us over. Not only does the UK have to wait about 6 months for the very same Square games as the US gets, BUT they do a really really crappy PAL conversion, resulting in terrible slowdowns and a nicely letterboxed image. Square-Enix is by far the worst :( if nintendo wants any form of change in market share they NEED to take europe too, otherwise its gonna be an extremely strong Sony/Microsoft-based market in Europe.
If Nintendo are smart (which they are) They'll want to get Wii out the same time as the PS3. My gamestation is already taking PS3 orders, when I asked about the Wii they said they had no idea. DS games being delayed is no problem for me. It's cheaper to import them from the USA than it is to buy them here :-) As for GC, I've yet to buy any of the decent games for the system. I only have Mario Kart and a few others. However, I'm getting 4 games for

Wii: Ok, listen up you guys. Nintendo said before that the Wii will be released BEFORE thanksgiving in USA. Nintendo also said taht it would take up to about 14 weeks to worldwide launch. But Nintendo Europe is pushing Nintendo Japan to set the release date for Europe BEFORE chrismas because the holidays are the most valuable days of the year. (i don't know how the guys in USA see this, but in Europe (were I live) this is common knowledge). Nintendo Europe wants the Wii in stores before the end of this year. And if Europe is lucky (witch we count on) then Wii Will have one IN 2006. About DS lite for Europe: Nintendo confirmed earlier that DS lite WILL be sold together with the release of Brain Age. When Brain Age comes out on the 9TH OF JUNE DS LITE will come out too. So, now you newbies have been fully updated, I'll continue with my normal work: Playing games. :-P And remember: LightmanOne.
I hope people in Europe gets games soon. But they have to translate it, and many other things. Luckly here in Mexico we have the games the same day that America.

faridmon what about Baten Kaitos oregins, ive bought the first one and the second just doesn't apear on the radar? what about naruto clash of ninja and super peper mario, why is europe so crap please to live, ok thats it am going to japan. (select an action below) ______________ Report Abuse To Moderator Posted May 17, 2006 10:35 am PT Well they didn't mention the full list of 12 so I wouldn't give up on the idea of a PAL version of Baten Kaitos: Origins. After all it was Nintendo not Namco who brought the original Baten Kaitos to Europe, Australia and New Zeland.
What annoys me is when people have pointless arguments about which console is better but 99% of sony and ms owners only play these games on their console : pro evolution soccer, fifa, halo, gta, gran turismo . Do u see my point , how can sony and ms justify selling there consoles for so much when most people only play 5 games on the console, its ridiculous, whats worse is when sony try and act as if crash bandicoot can step up to mario, mario would rape crash anytime anyplace

This is a tad unrelated but man Nintendo has heart. This system is will be awsome. It will rescue Nintendo from the bottom of the console food chain. I just feel sorry for them because everyone is stealing the whole motion sensing thing. Although Sony's isn't as good, MS could give them trouble in the motion-sensing arena, because the 2 360 cameras can detect things in 3D space which tell me if im wrong is a little more advanced then NIntendo's system of motion detection. It will be more expensive though
I live in the UK and out of my 39 games, only one of them was ever bought here because there's no freaking way I'm waiting months on end for something that is essentially the same as the US version. Not only do I get to play games months in advance thanks to importing, but I also get them at a reduced price even when added together with shipping.
well some people are getting carried away with this Nintendo bailing on GC nonsense, Not as many people have GC's in europe cause of the image nintendo have with the average consumer, you should be greatful that companies still release games on it over here to be honest. It looks like it has as much support as it has ever had over here for teh past 2 years, the only difference is Nintendo has put everything into Wii, but wait they still release games for GC? in my opinion that is impressive, also whats sont releasing for PS2(as in SCE)? god of war 2 and that is about it? other than that they get same titles as GC and the ones from the other 3rd parties. So who has stabbeed GC in the back? no one, the 3rd party support is not as broad due to no one buying them so only 1st party games and ''garunteed sellers will be relesed'. Anyways time for a new console anyways, GC was good and i enjoyed its 4 years, they were good times : )
If you're not European, don't comment at all. I am happy with Nintendo, but I will not buy any new consoles until I get a real job. Nintendo Virtual Console and that amazing controller(the Dual Shock clone thingy) are so great that I'd probbaly buy old games rather than Wii games when I get mine. =P GameCube is a good console... and by the way, if Wii is backwards compatible with GC just as the DS to GBA, why do they keep releasing GBA games and not GC? Maybe portables sell better, uhm.
Shame on Nintendo for stabbing its fans in the back. After the Gamecube flop, I dont trust Nintendo anymore. I will opt for PS3.
Well theres still these of interest to me comming out on the cube this year. Chibi-Robo Super Monkey Ball Adventure Naruto Super Paper Mario The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Harvest Moon: Magical Melody Tomb Raider Legend DK Bongo Blast Thats 8 decent new titles, more than enough to keep my Cube bein played right up intil WII is released. Oh and I still gotta get Metroid Prime 2, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Tales of Symphonia to.
The DS plays GBA games so whats the big deal? Doesnt matter what it comes out for at this point since with the DS like I said..Plays both formats.
what about Baten Kaitos oregins, ive bought the first one and the second just doesn't apear on the radar? what about naruto clash of ninja and super peper mario, why is europe so crap please to live, ok thats it am going to japan.
I am so annoyed by the way in which Nintendo has treated the Gamecube. It is a disgusting way to treat their customers and fanbase.
I've still got loads of games I wanna try out for the GC... so even during the Wii, I'll keep on buying those games that I never actually managed to play
well all consoles die , sooner or later, but at least the Wii is compatible with GC games and I have the feeling that the Wii wont be able to play dvd's since they already mention is also an optical disc format, just like the GC was but the difference is the size of the Wii discs, which are bigger than GC's
I agree, the GC was a great system that had a few flaws, such as no dvd or online. I think the Wii will have fixed many of the GameCube's mistakes, and will have more 3rd party support. I am really excited about the Wii and the DS!!
Well it was only a matter of time before the GC came to a stop. There are only a few good titles coming to the console this year. And the next year is going to be all Wii and DS.
So the Cube is finished. A shame. There were a few missed opportunities there, notably the failure to push digital video output. More effort in that direction would surely have increased sales but PAL Gamecube software didn't even support progressive scan! Personally not only will I be hanging onto my Cube, I also think this is a good time to start a collection. RIP a great console that never quite fulfilled its potential.
Nintendo stated at the E3 Media Briefing: Reggie Fils-Aime: "It is in out best interest to keep price and launch schedule prvate for a little while longer.." And DON'T throw out those GC controllers yet! You'll need them for the Wii's GC function. What interests me though is that quite a lot of games are coming out on GC now... must be because 'some other consoles' are too expensive to develop smaller games for.
As Nintendo have announced a US release date for DS Lite the lack of a European date can only be down to supply -- the Japanese experience shows they can't make enough of the things. They're more interested in conquering America so have earmarked all their upcoming stock for that market. Europe will just have to wait until they've made some more, by the look of it.
I maybe an idiot for not being able to find this info, but can anyone please tell me how much Nintendo is releasing the WII for?
