Publisher offering hard-to-catch Zoroark monster to those who visit US game retailers from Sept. 18-25; Aussie/NZ getting promotion Sept. 16-Oct. 18.
Nintendo announced today that Pokemon fans will have the opportunity to receive the rare creature Zoroark for a limited time at specialist game stores and Toys 'R' Us stores around the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
The offer will run from September 18 to September 25 in the US at all Toys 'R' Us stores, and from September 16 to October 16 in Australia and New Zealand at selected EB Games, GAME, and Toys 'R' Us stores that will be partaking in the distribution event. The full list of stores can be found on the Pokemon Black and White site after selecting the respective region and clicking on the "Get Zoroark" tab under "Pokemon."
Zoroark--who, according to Nintendo, cannot be caught under normal circumstances--is one of the first fifth-generation Pokemon to be introduced. The version given away in the promotion is a level 50 Zoroark that, according to Nintendo, knows the exclusive move snarl and comes in a cherish ball.
In order to obtain the Pokemon, both US and Australian users must bring their DS or 3DS with them to one of the stores, as well as their copy of Pokemon Black Version or Pokemon White Version. Users must not have more than 11 wonder cards in their possession.
@SmashBrawlerBoy: The event is in Canada saw it in the flyer. First of all, almost everyone has one of the 2 already. If you have Zoura, Evolve it, then breed it. If you have Zoroark, Breed it and soon you will have half a million. It's not even legendary....
@Camobullo no it isn't, it has the move snarl which is currently unavailable unless you use a hack or breed the Zoroark.
WARNING: Rant about events below. I'm really sick of events. I honestly can't see the point of withholding completed data from a game. They don't even try to sell it, ffs. Why bother making these things exclusive? Some of those events are awesome, but I highly doubt any of them are awesome enough to be so exclusive (maybe Arceus, Mew, Deoxys, but there's no reason they can't be unlockables). Why make Manaphy and Celebi events? And for that matter, why would you turn other items into events? imo, gen 4 was the worst offender. By then, we had event pokemon (of course), event items, event berries, and event poke'tch apps. What is the point of that? Are event berries that game breaking? Are poke'tch apps? What was the point of the Azure Flute? Honestly, I hope that Nintendo stops doing this. The Pokemon franchise is too old to be hiding things for no reason. It encourages hacking, and makes some pokemon appear better than they actually are (e.g. Phione). The worst thing, I think, is being stuck with an event poke that is useless competitively. I can say, from personal experience, that it sucks starting an interest in competitive play, with a Brave mew in your pc. Not really so great if you can only get it once every 5 years or so. /endrant.
@TBoneTony Dude, it's Nintendo. They sat there and blamed the crappy Wii sales on a bad game lineup, then did the same thing with the DS and blamed it on a bad game lineup again. They don't learn their lesson, even though they acknowledge what the problem is. They are going to keep living in the past until they try to fix the problems that are there. My advice to you: just don't support them until they get it together.
They keep doing this to the Pokemon games.... Why not have some pokemon as download only? Why is it that Nintendo seem to want to live in the past to our expense?
@eliebaz There was a Mew event on Wi-Fi Download 2 years ago I think. I believe there was an Arceus event too last year. Celebi, I don't remember. I have 3 legitimately obtained Mews in total lol, though they're not on Pokemon B&W. Not counting glitched/hacked Mews from older Pokemon games. :P
they already offered these two on a plate earlier this year! Why not just give us Keldeo,Genesect,or Melotta damn! or an event dat leads to an event dat leads to da pkmn (sigh)
A friend of mine works at the local mall, and before and after work he often visits gamestop, where they have an internet link for the DSi,and he has HEAPS of Pokemon. Almost all of them,it's insane. He gave me Zorua. And I'm pretty sure most people have got him one way or another.
Nintendo should give out some of the real pokemon they have locked up in their headquarters. Don't lie to us! We know you have them!!
No event for Canada. Again. Anywho I can get Zoroark by transfering 1 of my 3 Shiny Entei, Raikou, Suicune, or Celebi, which were all given away in Canada.
@Outer_Raven Dont you mean Japan? Theyve had at least ten or so events for Black/White already, whereas the US had maybe one or two. Japan always gets the strange, rare Pokemon events many more times over than the US does.
So what exactly is the process for doing something like this? I might be a tad older than the typical gamer and would like to be as inconspicuous as possible with getting this pokemon... :P
That's good news for those who don't have an Action-Replay like me, I only use it for Pokemon games that I want to get one of those Legendary Pokemon that are not in the game such as Zorua and Zoroark in my Pokemon White. Honestly it is much easier to get an Action-replay and get all the Legendary Pokemon all you want.
well, pretty weak promotion but considering that it's free for owners of the game, so why not? Free stuff always good
i thought the lasted headline said give away RARE pokemon....not a pokemon that's particularly easy to get *yawn*
So is there any particular reason for this promotion? Feels kinda random. Also, couldn't people just use a cheating device to get this Pokemon? Can the game detect that?
Does this include New Zealand? New Zealand has normally been put with Australia but I hope it applies this time too. I really want that pokemon.
So there's an 11 wonder card limit....but i thought the max you could get was 3. Whats up with that?
I wonder what next years Pokemon is gonna look like. 3DS game i'm sure but what els can they do with this series... I'm eagerly curious.
GS has never reported any of the pokemon events before...? Besides they already gave away the shiny crown beasts, which also unlock Zoroark, and the celebi that unlocks Zorua. ...they should make all future events wifi only...it's not fair for international players...or will this be made into a wifi event later?
Man, Pokemon is forever. Who would have thought that the little Gameboy release of Red and Blue would blossom into this Billion Dollar Giant?
