Nintendo's upcoming Wii U Pokemon features Skylanders-like toys

I live in Brazil, so, I'm forced to skip this. Even if these toys come to my country, they'll be like US$ 50 per unit.

Lets be totally honest. this will well and truely kick the wii-u into millions of homes.  when this is released the kids will take over the planet and parents will be crying themselves to sleep at night.  hurry up nintendo and release this... and zelda 

Didn't like the idea with Spyro, didn't like the idea with Disney, definitely do not like with Pokemon. Especially since they have other series that haven't had games for a while (Starfox, F-Zero, ect.)

At least it seems it will be a more reasonable price (I remember Skylanders was going for nearly $100 and an additional $7+ dollars per figurine, not sure about now) at $18-$20 for the game and about $2 per figurine (though, there are hundreds more pokemon than skylanders characters, so that'll most likely cover it)

This pretty much confirms for me that they'll never make another console RPG of pokemon in the style of Colosseum or Gale of Darkness; quite potentially my best experiences with that franchise.

This is actually a great idea. It could also boost up the sales for WII U. I hope the do a 3DS release as well. Also, judging by how any Pokemon there are, Nintendo will release way more toys to collect. More than skylanders. Money Train choochoo

I would rather just see Nintendo work on real hardcore games, it looks like they are failing to appeal to anyone in the western world, but I bet this will give them a boost in sales with kids

went to BEST BUY today there is like no 3DS or Wii-U games on the self... The new consoles have the smallest library of games of all the consoles.

You know, I actually think I want this because it would awesome to collect physical version of pokemon :D

I'm surprised this wasn't out sooner. Had this been around at launch, Wii U might be selling better. This could be a real money-train for Nintendo.

everyone loves Pokemon as far as im concerned this should have been out before skylanders.

I'm sure Nintendo could use the money right now. But with Skylanders still selling well and Disney getting in on the tech too, Nintendo better hope they don't over saturate the market.

Gotta say it's a smart business move.  Pokemon players enjoy collecting, now they're giving them something to collect that they can make even more money off of.

I think if they were to release this now and it was anything like Skylanders (of course with some added features like an in-game/multiplayer arena) ,this game would really move a lot of units.

If they would only relent and put a main line Pokemon rpg on the Wii U, then have people buy pokeballs with the readable tech, who would need to catch them all in game.  You could buy them, and Nintendo would be drawning in dough.

This is nice, but I think I'll buy a 3DS and wait for Pokemon X and Y to come out.

I knew it!! I knew it was going to come to this...but it would be nice to see it done for a new Pokémon game like Pokémon Colosseum or XD, or make a new game that links up to X and Y...but it will fly off the shelves because of Pokémon...
