Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD hits PSN on December 27
HD rerelease of original Xbox action shooter coming to PS3 at the end of the month for $15.
The second coming of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath was originally scheduled for Easter, but developer Just Add Water badly missed that target release window for the PlayStation 3 HD revamp of the 2005 Xbox shooter. Today it was confirmed that the miss will be measured in months, rather than years.
Sony today announced that Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD will be available via the PlayStation Network starting December 27 for $15. The updated game will include a variety of changes, including remodeled characters with higher-resolution textures, visually updated environments, tweaked audio, redone menus, new difficulty modes, trophies, 720p support, and more. Stereoscopic 3D and PlayStation Move support are slated to be added in a couple of months.
In Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, players step into the role of the stranger--a mysterious bounty hunter who tracks down outlaws for money. Equipped with a variety of strange weapons that use small creatures as bullets, players explore expansive environments ranging from Old West towns and thick forests to industrial complexes in third person, and then transition to first-person for combat.

i got this and all the other oddworlds on steam for less than 4$ & im enjoying em
I cant wait for this to come out. I loved it on the Xbox and yes its totally worth buying again. Especially for $15 (Most of the HD remakes are 20-$40 and this is better than a lot of them)

Exciting! One of the only oddworld games I haven't go my hands on yet. To bad abe's no in this one... or is he? Serioulsy, I'm asking, does anyone know?
Anyone know when they're going to update the PC version with the updated PS3 visuals?
It'll come out for XBox 360 eventually. All they have to do is release it as an OnDemand game. There are full version of games you can download off of XBL now, so I don't know why this would be a problem. The main problem is the original XBox game of "Stranger's Wrath won't play on the 360. It's not b/c. So Microsoft needs to allow this game through their download service. I still own the original. If they can do Beyond Good & Evil HD on XBox Live, they can do Stranger's Wrath.
Surprisingly a good time to release a downloadable game.
I might get this game, because a few years ago I was looking for this game and it took me forever to find it until now :D
Yep Getting this before xmas because i live in the uk. Plus a psn exclslive because xbox had it and ps3 didnt so seems far. I played this on old xbox but never brought it But know on psn i going to buy it and ya bring Abes 3 HD to the Psn Exclslive as well plz.
Europe gets it on 21st December. I'll be a nice pre-Christmas present to myself. :)

This looks like a great game, I'm still glad I didn't buy an x-box, but this is one game that makes me wonder about that. Oh yeah, just wanted to let GS know, you're a year late with the release date.
GS forgot to mention it will have a Platinum trophy :P
can't wait for the pc HD patch, been holding out on the game for ages!
oh man i cant believe its actually coming, i played the oddword on xbox and it was awesome too bad its only on the ps
