Official Pokemon Magazine coming to UK
Future-published all-things-Pokemon magazine to include information on games, TV series, films, and trading card game.
Future Publishing today announced a deal with The Pokemon Company to launch the Official Pokemon Magazine in the United Kingdom. The first issue will go on sale March 20 for £3.99 ($6).
The magazine is described as a "one-stop shop" for all things Pokemon. It will include information on the latest Pokemon news relating to games, films, the TV series, and the trading card game. Official Pokemon Magazine will print 13 issues per year.
The Pokemon Company has been busy of late. In the past few months, the group launched an official Pokedex iOS app, as well as a Pokemon TV app that lets users watch ad-free shows and movies. In addition, Pokemon X and Y are due out for the 3DS this October.
The arrival of Official Pokemon Magazine comes during a time when gaming-focused print publications are more frequently closing than opening. PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Nintendo Power, Xbox World, and PSM3 all shut down last year, with GamePro closing its doors a year earlier.
