the game sells where so poor because everyone liked the game and where those who have cracked ps2 systems.. ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER no doubt, really well made in every way it has taken my ps2 to the graphical limits with every trick on screen..
Okami HD announced for PS3

Rerelease of classic PS2 adventure title to have remastered graphics, 1080p feature, and Move support.
Gamers clamouring for a rerelease of Studio Clover's critically acclaimed adventure title Okami will be pleased to know that Capcom will be releasing an HD version of the game by the end of this year in Japan.
According to an advanced copy of Famitsu (via Sinobu and Tales Source), the PlayStation 3 game will be retitled "Okami Zekkie-ban" (or "Okami: Magnificent Edition" in English). This version of the game will not only have remastered HD graphics, but will also support full 1080p options on current televisions. The game will also have PlayStation Move controller support; players use the Move controller to activate celestial brush powers.
The remastered game will be out on November 1 and will be priced at ¥3,990 ($51). Gamers who buy the first print run of the title will get a code to download the digital version of Okami: A Caricature of Beasts, a Japanese book adaptation of the game's story.
North American and European versions will be out in digital form this fall for $19.99/£15.99/€19.99 in the respective territories. For more information on the PlayStation 2 version of the game, check out GameSpot's review.

be glad you didnt, using the motion controls seems like a nice idea but it sucked balls. simply using an anolog stick for some reason was way more accurate

@sabresieben Sadly we won't get it. If I recall correctly Studio Clover no longer exists. It went under due to the game not selling well enough, fast enough. But I myself am quite satisfied with an HD downloadable version, I played my original copy until it stopped working and haven't been able to replace it so this works out nicely.
Y'know I'm really happy for you and everything, and I'ma let you finish, Capcom--but uh, how 'bout a freakin' HD collection for Onimusha or maybe you can actually stop frontin' on ignoring the Ace Attorney series, and release AAI2.....<_<

1 Like I got this game for Wii because it had motion control feature... then I realized 1/2 of it was boring enough to disencourage me to beat the game once more. Man, that was awesome on PS2, but I had enough from it. I can't even hear the sound effect for opening chests without feeling sick.

1 Like I agree with those who have already mentioned this would be a perfect game to port to Vita. Of course, Sony may be hesitant because of the previously poor sales of the title.
I still have my PS2 original, so I won't be picking this up unless they release a disc version domestically, or I import the Japanese version (assuming it's a disc version).
Hmm...so when can we expect Okami 3? Despite it's charm, I felt Okamiden was inferior to the original, so I'm hoping for a console sequel.

id love this rerelease to come out on Wii U, as i dont have a ps3 but will be purchasing wii u. it makes sense graphically and with the motion controls. but wasnt the originally okami also on wii with motion controls? i bet this is just an HD port of the wii version then....
OMG! Okami might not appeal to everyone, but boy do I love this game to pieces. I love everything about it, especially the cell-shaded graphics. For me, this is a Masterpiece. Thank you Capcom :)

Okami has an amazing story ,adventure, music ,art...etc,

@digi-demon I agree it sucks that they wont create an emulator (when they easily could) but it is nice that they re-release the games for those who missed them first time around.
@JimmeyBurrows Yes its sucks about PS3/PS2 back compatability - they [Sony] should have ensured this was possible.
It would be nice if it [Okami HD] was a capcom freebie awarded for being a loyal capcom fan - a once use dlc voucher or something with packaged with RE6 or some other big capcom release.
Make no mistake, capcom like all publishers is not thinking of the gamers best interests, it is purely eyeing their wallet.
