Painkiller expansion due winter 2004
Battle out of Hell includes new single-player chapter, multiplayer maps, and an SDK.
DreamCatcher Games will be attempting to heat up the cold weather this winter with a new expansion pack for the PC shooter Painkiller, called Battle out of Hell, the company announced today. The expansion should be available in time for the holiday season.
According to the press release, Battle out of Hell will expand both the single- and multiplayer portions of the game. Offline, the expansion will feature a new chapter with 10 more levels. Online, Battle out of Hell adds new multiplayer modes, maps, and models. New weapons introduced in the added chapter will also be available in multiplayer.
Painkiller: Battle out of Hell will also make the developer software development kit available to the game community, so fans can create their own maps and levels.
Developed by Poland-based People Can Fly, Painkiller hit stores this past April. An Xbox version is planned for early 2005. Check out GameSpot's review of the original game here.
