I'm sure this had nothing to do with the Disney buyout of LucasArts. Back to presenting football players as the ideal man, eh?
Paul Meegan returns to Epic
Former LucasArts president and Epic Games China founder takes on role of VP of product development at company HQ in North Carolina.
Paul Meegan has returned to Epic Games. The Epic Games China founder who left in 2010 to join LucasArts as its president (only to leave in August) is now the vice president of development at Epic Games. He will work out of the company's headquarters in Cary, North Carolina.
"I'm really happy to be back in the Epic family and working with some of the best developers in the industry," Meegan said in a statement.
Epic Games president Mike Capps believes Meegan's past experiences in high-level positions inside Epic and elsewhere will "have a huge impact" on the company's "mission to deliver great games and technology."
In addition to working at Epic Games China and LucasArts, Meegan has served as executive vice president of production at Ubisoft Shanghai, studio director at Jaleco Entertainment, executive vice president at Ubisoft Montreal, and as president and founder of Sinister Games Inc., which was obtained by Ubisoft in 2000.
Epic Games is currently at work on a number of projects, including the Unreal Engine 4-powered PC game Fortnite, as well as Infinity Blade: Dungeons and Gears of War: Judgment in association with People Can Fly.
