Trial for mascot fighter arriving tomorrow for PS Plus subscribers on PS3, all PS Vita users; available for everyone beginning October 23.
The multiplayer beta for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will begin tomorrow on PlayStation 3 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony announced today through the PlayStation Blog. PlayStation Vita gamers can also download the trial tomorrow, with a public release for all PS3 users scheduled to begin October 23.
The beta for All-Stars Battle Royale includes six playable characters: Kratos, Sweet Tooth, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, PaRappa, and Fat Princess. Gamers can duke it out on the Metropolis and Hades stages, and can try out four-player tournaments and 2 vs. 2 tournaments.
Players won't have long to try out All-Stars Battle Royale, as the beta ends for all users across all platforms October 30. The game is due out in full for PS3 and PS Vita on November 20, a delay of about a month from its previously scheduled late-October launch.

at the character select screen, I just couldn't find anyone I wanted to play as. I finally picked the Racoon dude, cuz he reminded me most of a Nintendo character. Then I played about 5 matches and I hated it. The voices bothered me..and the announcer: "SUPER!" ........... "SUPER! ............ SUPER!............. SUPER! and speaking of Supers, thats the whole fight. Punch,punch,punch use your super, repeat.
I was really excited about it too. I have a greater ?appreciation for Smash now! Just cal me Hater! That game is junk
I played it and wasn't blown away by it, in fact I was somewhat disappointed in it.
To say this is a Super Smash Bros. clone with Playstation characters would be the right way to describe it in that it's a 2D playing field with interactive environments, pick ups and even copying the Final Smash after filling up a meter 3 times.
If you've played Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Smash Bros Brawl, you're in for more or less the same type of gameplay so you should adapt to it pretty quickly.
If this would have come out first, people would be whining that SSB was a cheap ripoff. In my opinion, they're both really good games, but if you don't want to play it, fine by me.
Oh, I just remembered, has anyone counted pixels yet? I need to make sure this game is graphically good enough for me before I play it, screw how fun it is.

@Ansem_Rev Battle Royale isn't Smash whatsoever. You'd get that if you dig into the game by actually playing it instead of being a fanboy and complaining.
the fact that they did not include Snake, Cloud and Crash Bandicoot as well as many others really annoys me, they are going to take advantage of all those people who don't know the value of money by releasing character DLCs
@GrayF0X786 you do realize none of those characters are made nor are they exclusive to Sony systems/consoles. Snake is owned by konami and it is not owned anyway by sony nor was it ever exclusive PC and Nintendo to name a few . Cloud is from FF7 and FF7 as you know is a PC game dumbed down to the worst graphics ever seen on playstation 1. Crash bandicoot was exclusive during ps1 era and no longer is it Exclusive . Xbox gamecube , gameboy to name more. So as you can see you're anger out ways your judgement so chill out take a deep breathe and realize you dont know what you are talking about. as for the game itself why is Dante , Big Daddy and Raiden in this game is the real question..
damn it i wanted to play as sir dan xD i'm still buying this game since i love super smash bros. melee and brawl and only this game has sir dan kicking everyone's ass =P
Sony came to my campus today. Played it for a long while. Wouldn't say it's better than Smash Bros. but is definitely a fun diversion. Had a good time even if Kratos is the most annoying character to fight.
Aside from it being a cross over platform fighter, there's really nothing else similar to SSB since it's based on life bars and super move finishers, whereas SSB was a ring out system based on percentages.
@abHS4L88@Harrydaprobut that system makes sense. they already stated that the only way to score points is to kill while using a super move. this game willl only appeal to those who play SSB.

lol, Nintendo has way more adult, educational language coaches and cooking ingredients instructors games, for real life situtations, than Sony ever hast.
Besides PS3 is far from hardcore, when they have, LBP, Leggos, Ghostbusters, Flower, Point & Click, Burger Time HD, Harry Potter ohh yeah real Hardcore champ.
