Rockstar Games says last-minute request by Sony Europe has pushed Grand Theft Auto IV expansions' non-360 release to April 13.
For Grand Theft Auto IV fans, March was set to go out like a lion with the release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. Previously exclusive to the Xbox 360, the two add-ons to the top-rated game--The Lost and Damned and the Ballad of Gay Tony--were to launch in North America on March 30 both as a single retail boxed product and as a la carte downloads.
However, today Rockstar Games announced that the release of the additional content, which Microsoft paid $50 million to be Xbox 360-exclusive for a limited time, has been delayed. Episodes from Liberty City will now go on sale on April 13 in North America and on April 16 in Europe, where the company that prompted the delay is located.
On its Web site, Rockstar gave the following explanation: "Due to a last minute game submission request from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to edit some of the in-game Liberty City radio station, television, and internet content, we are forced to delay the worldwide release of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for both PlayStation 3 and PC for an extra two weeks."
Though it didn't detail what changes were made, Rockstar went on to say that the delay was necessary because games must be resubmitted for approval in their entirety. It also said that although the change wasn't requested by Sony Computer Entertainment America, the publisher's desire to have a simultaneous worldwide release caused the postponement to be extended to this side of the Atlantic.
Rockstar Games also said that in preparation for the Episodes from Liberty City launches on the PlayStation Store and Games for Windows Live--where the PC edition was spotted last November--the Rockstar Social Club will be down for one week starting March 22.

Figures, rockstar should change their name to delay star. Seems that they can't even hit a release date on a game that's been out for years.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!! We have been delayed a year or 2, i could understand they needed that money for "AGENT" But this is un-exeptable, i find this disrespectful to us the gta/ps3 fans I do not care if you need minor adjustments... DO THEM IN PATCHES This is not fair! you rush out the dlc in time for 360 but suddenly you pay back the gratitude for letting you build GTA 1/2 on OUR console!!!! this is how you re-pay us. To be honest i will (if i can) Boycott this for definate if delayed again, i hope you see this rockstar
i dont understand is this dlc download or disk or should i have to buy gay toni and lost of damned and i must have gta4
It's dissapointing to hear this, I was looking forward to getting The Ballad of Gay Toni for PS3(I had The Lost & Damned for s***box 360 before it had the 3 Red lights =/) A couple of weeks delay isn't that bad at all, Really lookin forward to parachutin and I also heard that the Ballad of Gay Toni has an 80's radio station? cool =D
Grate i bloody preorded it and now i got to wait 2 to 3 more weeks im pissed off at this F u Sony and ur iders i mean i love PS3 but i preorderd this no more than the 1st of this mounth hopeing it wod come out by the end of the week grate BUT i gess it will be worth the wait
April 16? oh no :( Well, we still don´t know the the system requirements of both expantions of GTA IV
@ thenephariouson GTA IV and the expansions are *hit? I beg to differ. I finally got to play GTA IV on the PC now that I have a killer rig and it is even better on PC and it's about damn time us PC gamers got these great expansions.
I hate how it says "Two Complete Games" on the covers. It's not like they added a new city for each... Anyway, personally I'm just getting Ballad of Gay Tony.
@ awesome, ms paid it so thier fanbase could get it ages before ps3 does, fact is 360 owners got it first ps3 owners have too wait and not many are botherd now either with it
Sony know what they are doing.. no point in releasing something that will go up against GOW3 sales eh? May as well spread the love... Heh, funny how M$ paid so much money to get it exclusive, now that Sony have it too, they could not care less to release it asap...
'wait for two great games' just no, im a big gta fan, these two add-ons are horrifically boring, the only thing fun about it is parachuting in multiplayer
I didn't care when they announced that the GTA IV add-ons were coming to the PS3 and I certainly don't care about the delay.
There isn't a 360 version out in Europe already? Article doesn't seem to say either way, but if so why do those owners get the full version while PC and PS3 owners get an edited version? Did somebody just notice something or did circumstances change and something that was acceptable months ago now offensive? The last reason I can understand.
i like how during the middle of the video hes parachuting and it loosk like this giant city is just smack dab in tha middle of the ocean XD
Sounds like that 50 Cent tune on the radio didn't go over real big with the corporates...either that, or they found the hidden pr0n games in there before release this time. And Fail at Microsoft with their exclusive crap that ruins gaming in the PC community - stick to creating buggy operating systems and leave the gamers alone.
@i_PWN_fanboys I did read the article, and it didn't answer my question. So either you would like to, or shut your mouth and troll someone else.
The way that companies pay to have exclusives is just extremely anoying! It means that only the guys with the most money win and the gamers lose!
That sucks. Well it's better than them saying they're not bringing it to the ps3 at all. Waiting for it is better than that.
I bet you MS had something to do with the Delay and guys you can also use the dual shock 3 controller if they add the Playstation Move support.
