Ratchet & Clank Collection due this fall in North America
PS3 bundle to include remastered versions of original, Going Commando, and Up Your Arsenal; set to arrive first in Europe this spring.
Three PlayStation 2 Ratchet & Clank titles are headed to the PlayStation 3. Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price today announced the Ratchet & Clank Collection, due out in North America this fall.
The Ratchet & Clank Collection will contain the original Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. The PlayStation 2 games are being remastered for the PS3 by Idol Minds (Pain) with the help of Insomniac Games.
All three games will sport full 1080p high-definition visuals, stereoscopic 3D support, and trophies. Additionally, the new version of Up Your Arsenal will include the same competitive multiplayer component that was a new feature for the series when the game originally shipped in 2004.
The collection will make its premiere in Europe this spring. A price for the bundle was not mentioned, and as of press time, Sony had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
Sony said it is choosing to release the Ratchet & Clank Collection in North America later than Europe because the company has "something very special" planned for American gamers.
The first indication that Sony was planning a Ratchet & Clank collection came earlier this month when Amazon France posted (and then removed) a listing for the pack.
The Ratchet & Clank Collection is not the first high-definition combo pack the publisher has released. The company has shipped PS3 HD collections for Sly Cooper, God of War, Jak and Daxter, and Ico & Shadow of the Colossus.
