Remedy working on new 'AAA' Xbox 360 project

@TevoxZi I can mock them as much as I want. I have played them all so far and only 1 exclusive caught my attention. Uncharted. Get off your high horse and move on to the next board you can talk trash.

I just finished Alan Wake and its 2 DLC episodes. Having done that, I really wish that there is a sequel. The story is simply superb.

I hope its alan wake 2. Alan wake was a really good game, not perfect but still really good. The story was superb and it was like a HBO series the way it left you wanting more. Graphics were good but screen tearing sucked. Gameplay was ok but got repetitive, and the ending was a let down. Hopefully in 2 they can iron out the kinks, I wonder where the next game will be set? Probably start in the same town but it would be nice to be set in hawaii or something imo.

A sequel to Alan Wake, would be awesome. I truly thought of the game and it's two DLC episodes as a masterpiece. And the thought of a sequel is something I deeply anticipate.

here is to hoping its not Alan Wake 2 not that alan wake was bad but because the x360 need more new exclusives, so plz ms bring more new exclusives atleast 2 or 3 a year for the rest of this generation

Alan wake was actually pretty fun, it definately felt like a max payne type game. More wild animals and running at a native 720p resolution would have helped it i'm sure, as well as fixing the lip syncing which was horendous! Otherwise a great game. Can't wait for a sequel.

@firehawk998 Whoops, there was possessed animals, the birds =p. It would have been great if there was Bears, Deer, Mountain lions and other animals that would be controlled by the Darkness. It would have been awesome and it would have added to the diversity of the enemies, but we can hope that they have them in AW2.

Maybe a sequel is not such a silly idea. Look, even if the original didn't sell so well the inital development costs and artwork and designs (maybe stuff that didn't make the final cut) could be reformated or 'reheated' along with some new stuff and a sequel created - the game engine is now 'proven' they have experience gained from the first title (and reviews feedback) so they can hopefully produce 'a crowd pleaser' and maybe recoup some of the initial investment$ made on the original release... maybe... just a thought.

I doubt it's another Alan Wake game. The first one was great however. It's too bad more people wasn't interested it. Stuff like this happens all the time on the PS3. Most of their exclusives have poor sales. Games like Demon's Souls, 3D Dot Game Heroes, ModNation Racer and MAG haven't even sold over 1 million copies worldwide yet. Alan Wake has sold over 750K worldwide, so I'm sure it has sold more then 250K in the U.S. by now. **************************************************************** @DrKill09 If it's 360 only, it's not "AAA". Most developers are leaving PC gaming and jumping over to consoles. That's where the REAL money is at. Developers spend $5-10 million making a PC games and then only sell about 200K copies. The same game will sell 500K - 1 Million on the game consoles.

ppl are mad of this because I remember this thing was promoted exclusively for Vista with DX10, blah blah blah. And then they said this better be played while sitting on a couch with a controller. Hell, I can play this game with a controller on PC while sitting on a couch! lol

To complainers, I'm sure the controls were deliberate, to give you that sense of dread in the dark. Looking at the control schemes, they had every opportunity to make it "easier" for the player, but they chose to make it awkward and scary. As a "gamer" I picked up on the system pretty quick, but those first few moments were quite panic-driven/creepy. Seeing less competent players get absolutely spooked and flail about while playing it really showed just how clever it was. The game wasn't perfect - the Taken did become a bit of a chore, and the forest did become tiresome - but overall I think it was a fantasticly crafted singleplayer game. The graphics and story were outstanding. It really was a top notch cinematic achievement in my view. It's a real shame that sales for games like this typically don't stack up (but the reasons are understandable).

The game sold pretty poorly compared to pretty much every other big exclusive this year, so a sequel is unlikely when you consider the unprecedented development time and humongous budget the original had for so little end result profit. If it does happen though, they NEED to focus less on the utterly tedious combat and implement the "light as a weapon" mechanic PROPERLY, not just as a way to take down the enemies magic shadow shields so other weapons can hurt them. Plus, more responsive controls and fixed jumping mechanics would also be a must.

Proper characters and better use of (potentially) good ones, story, psychological elements and more diverse gameplay, please.

Remedy, you are the best damn developers that i ever known, you always bring fresh stuff to the table and i will always fully support you :D

It's a speculative article, but I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to Alan Wake. The game can improve in a lot of ways and sequels often do just that. It's got style, it just needs more variety in the basics.

Alan wake has sold just over 750000 copies worldwide to date. Though the initially the numbers were that not good but this definitely has legs for the long run. The reason is word of mouth. The word of mouth of this game has been pretty impressive thus far. So I expect this game to sell over 1 million copy by this year. I know the numbers are not that huge but one will have to understand that remedy is a very small team. So I would not be surprised if they create a sequel.And maybe next time Microsoft will push the game into the market lot harder.

Surely it's too soon for an Alan Wake sequel. I'd like to see a brand new game from Remedy.

Hope it doesn't take another 7 years to make it and I hope they keep the story writer from Alan Wake.

I've changed my mind about exclusivity over the years. The more people who can experience an awesome game like Alan Wake, the better! If some people prefer PC or PS3, then that's their preference. While I prefer the 360 because of its user-friendliness and the controller, I'd LOVE to be able to play some of the games that are exclusive to PC (Old Republic) or PS3 (Heavy Rain), but I can't. So I understand how some PC users are annoyed that this didn't come out on their preferred format too.

The gaming community is an interesting place... Here we have a company claiming "AAA Xbox 360 Project" & there has been no game announced what-so-ever, just the company making the proposed title along with a metric TON of speculation. I for one, will sit back & wait to see what develops before I dream up an incarnation of some (?) game that is, up to this point, intangible. The funny thing is, people are already fighting tooth & nail over their "opinions" of what this story may... or may not be. I like how if you prefer one system over another you are automatically called a "fanboy", like preference is grounds for insult... by the way: I like strawberry jelly more than grape. Grow-up!

Alan Wake was a fun game but about half way threw I started to get really, really bored. I just lost interest.

jinilthedon@ I understand that, but I'm saying it's not a 360 exclusive if the game is also for PC! Also most people don't have a gaming system and just have a PC?! And some people rather play some games PC than consoles, like my friend for example rather play Left 4 Dead and The Orange Box on PC. And some games can't play well on consoles like MMO and real time strategy games.

If it's 360 only, it's not "AAA". Go back to making pc games. :P

@MOwens9512 This. Multiplayer exclusives were the reason I bought the Xbox 360 in the first place. I mean, if I had to pick wich console Alan Wake would've thrived on the best I would've picked the PS3 considering that console is pretty single player based.

Alan Wake was a really cool game, the problem was that it was announced very early in the development and had a LOT of hype going with it. Sadly, that made people think it was a disappointment :( To be honest, it didn't quite live up to the hype, but still it was a really enjoyable game.

nice. I just finished Alan Wake and was quite impressed. as long as they fix up the voice-animations, especially for Alice, i'll be pleased!

@jinilthedon Exactly. I just built a high end gaming pc, and I traded in my 360 because the games that I liked on the 360, are on the PC.

I hate to say it like this, but Alan Wake should have been cross-platformed. It would have thrived a lot better had it been on PC and/or PS3. As I and many others have said before, XBox's core audience live for multiplayer experiences; the whole platform was built on that aspect of gaming. Most of my friends are XBox owners and I rarely hear them talking about playing games that don't feature multiplayer. Then throw in the fact that it had a lot of competition for dollars early this year (Red Dead, FF XIII, Mass Effect 2, etc) and well I guess it kind of got lost in the sea of good games.

@yearof3000 dude,just think like this,Everyone who have an xbox 360 may not have a pc with good specifications to run now-a-days game and pc cant be considered as a Gaming platform,it does millions of thing.

@sleepnsurf Just because it's your opinion doesn't make it the general fact. Keep that in mind, because I - for one respect Bungie's work, but I dislike Halo, I own Left 4 Dead -serie on PC, Splinter Cell - I could also buy on PC as well as Mass Effect, which will have its 2nd part come out on PS3 next year. So therefore they don't count as "console demanding" -exclusives to All it leaves on your list is Gears of War - which I'm not that much interested in, Fable - which I am slightly interested in and Alan Wake - which I am, as well interested in as I've played it at my friend's house. Not to hate on Xbox 360, I'm going to buy one surely next to my PS3 eventually if I find more games that I require the console for, but if you really find the need to mock the PS3 - the least you could do is to come up with some mature & valid point that everyone can agree on, instead of mocking it with just an opinion whereas everyone can have their own. P.S. The next time you post something, it could be about the topic itself instead of going offtopic just to make other fanboys get pissed off at you. Face it, they're both amazing consoles, because if they weren't - people wouldn't be buying them. Anyways, whatever is coming up, this'll increase my interest towards the Xbox 360.

@both of you... neither one was that special. Uncharted is a great game in it's beginning but suffers at the the last third so much so that the game gets taken from heights to being above average. Mass Effect is much like the PS3, the saddest part is how much potential it has but how much of that gets lost on being over ambitious about many things, but repeating old tried ideas from every other pc rpg before it.
