Three timed-exclusive multiplayer modes coming to Xbox 360 this month for $4 each or bundled for $9; No Hope Left difficulty, Ada Wong campaign unlock arriving in update December 17.
The first true expansion for Resident Evil 6 will launch December 18, Capcom has announced. Xbox 360 players can grab three new multiplayer modes--Predator, Survivor, and Onslaught--for $4 each or bundled together for $9. It was not announced when these modes will be available for the PlayStation 3 version of Resident Evil 6.
In the game's Survivor mode, when killed, players will respawn as an enemy character able to attack human players. Predator mode has one player taking on the role of the Ustanak, trying to take down human players.
Notably, it appears Capcom has done away with the previously announced Siege mode for Resident Evil 6 in favor of an Onslaught mode as the third game type included with the DLC.
The Onslaught game mode has two players going head-to-head trying to clear waves of enemies. Putting combos together will be crucial to victory, as doing so sends enemies onto their opponent's screen.
Siege mode, on the other hand, was to have one side protecting a single non-playable character pitted against enemies attempting to kill that NPC. A Capcom representative said Siege will be available at a later date.
In addition to the new game modes for Resident Evil 6, Capcom will release the previously announced camera-adjustment title update for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on December 17. In addition to allowing users to expand the in-game camera to a greater field of view, the update will introduce a new "extremely challenging" No Hope Left difficulty option. On top of this, the update will add a new option that allows players to combine English language audio with subtitles in different languages.
Lastly, the December 17 update for Resident Evil 6 makes the Ada Wong campaign playable from the get-go. Previously, her campaign was playable only after players completed the game's three other story arcs. Additionally, a new co-op partner will be added to Ada Wong's campaign, though gamers can play through the missions alone if they wish.

an update/patch i would really really appreciate for this game would be the ability to discard guns. i hate how i get awarded certain guns after finishing a chapter even though i purposely didn't pick them up during the chapter. that way i get ammo for guns i don't wish to use instead of ammo i want. i don't need an assault rifle for leon or a 2nd shotgun for helena or a 2nd sniper for piers!
what a disgrace to give ada a partner. u r supposed to play her story alone!! and what's this about unlocking ada's story from the start?? is this for people who only wanna play ada and not the other 3 stories? i don't get it.
the new modes do not really excite me, i remember how much re5 versus sucked. i like playing coop so i'll keep it with the campaign and mercs (ada alone though ;) ) what i'm really excited about is the new difficulty. i sure love a challenge.
wow you serious capcom, these modes look like some trash and the game should have already came out with these considering all you had was campaign mercenaries and crappy agent hunt. re sucks bad
I was more-so hoping for campaign expansion/fixes. like maybe a way to share ammo effectively with a quantity option. the only thing even worth considering is the download that unlocks Ada's story and adds a co-op partner.
@HKILLER88888 no. the PC version is still coming. there's a page available on steam, and saying it will be released in 2013.
@DeadPhoenix86 now that's ASSY why?what's with all this WAIT?like it's gonna be any different from the Xbox 360 or PS 3 (graphics yeah but game play gonna be the same thing!)
@HKILLER88888 well problem will be. they have to optimize it for various of different hardware. plus they likely add DX11 to the game. so that needs time as well.
No Hope Left difficulty eh? So in Resident Evil 6 terms that would be Devil May Cry 3's Easy mode or lower right? Maybe Very Easy?
@y3ivan this is not disc locked content.
@gantarat dont think so.
seriously i heard of this Multiplayer mod since MAY 2012 when its still in progress and there are several "incomplete" files and encrypted tables in the disc itself.
Capcom learn from the mistakes from the pass, now their are really good in covering up.

You know, why fucking bother with telling us about the dlc if the score that Gamespot give is 4.5 unless there's an intention to remark the game? Why not just don't mention this at all or just say "For more on RE6, check out Metacritic IGN Gamespy" or ANYTHING other than shameless self promotion of a bad score in the end anyway? Be aware of the awful score this site gives out before you say this crap.
@Kaz32 you're right the world would be a much better place if everyone shared the same opinion and saw mediocrity as great
@Chaos_Dante_456 I'm just saying if they give a bad score, what's the point of promoting the dlcs? It's just retarded. It's like saying "Hey, we think this thing is fucking garbage. Here's the other dlc extra contents for the game". What's the point of that? It's not going to help anyone think better about the game, especially here on Gamespot where most people just agree with scores like tools.
And the score itself is a disgrace. If you ever played the game like, at all, it's nothing close to 4.5. I'll give it a 7.5 till 9. As an constant follower to the series, I can safely say it's better than RE5 and it's definitely better than Operation Raccoon City. It's better than Warfighter, a definitely boring and generic copy paste of the previous games which somehow got 6.0 even though it's definitely worse than RE6, and Black Ops 2, the MEDIOCRE game that MANY people buy until it reaches the "highest preorder rate of the year" and get $1 billion out of, though Black Ops 2 does attempt to do things differently. Sucks that the gameplay hinders the entire game.
@Chaos_Dante_456 You mean taking out 10 of the game's aspect would make it not resident evil? You could say the same thing about every Call of Duty games. Take out Captain Price, the Shakespearean dialogue and the name Call of Duty and it's just like any other fps in the market out there.
What about the Ustanak, a nod to Nemesis, the zombies, the C virus which is created from the T veronica virus + the plagas, the disgusting Raspak whatever monster that looks like the leechman + ET, the running gag of helicopters crashing down for some reason, the giant monster from Chris's campaign, the bee monster and the amazing boss fights with enemies that is so mindbogglingly impossible to describe? The in game emblem collectibles reveals files that's definitely related to past Resident Evil games from 1 to 5. There is no way in hell that these things are not Resident Evil related.
@Kaz32 @Andava Yeah it still draws in money oddly enough, but then again it's all in the name. Killing it off would be best for the integrity of the series but yeah it's a cash cow right now so I doubt too that they'll let it go.
As far as RE6 being RE at the core...i beg to differ remove the references to Umbrella/Wesker, the BSAA, and Raccoon City change the character names and appearances and I doubt many would ever have compared it to Resident Evil. There isn't much outside the name that makes it "Resident Evil" at it's core. But again i could care less anymore if it maintains the "RE feel" anymore just as long as they make a good and cohesive game
The RE characters have never been the well developed. Can't really understand the attachments to such bland characters other than their design/familiarity. As far as DMC goes it hasn't even come out yet so it's success/failure has yet to be determined. Yeah I'll admit being offput to Dante's redisign and personality change, but yeah the game (atleast from the demo) does maintain good combat/combo mechanics.
@Chaos_Dante_456 @Andava Killing the series is impossible by this point. Look at Revelations, there's bound to be a second one seeing how successful that is. The fact that Revelation's going to PS3 and Xbox360 proves it best. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell if it's going to be well liked or not. On the 3DS it's better than any games on that device, but on consoles? With ridiculous looking characters, tedious backtracking, stiff controls and this stupid "scan" gameplay mechanics to get green herbs? I think people who just say "Revelations is better" all the freaking time without even playing that game will be disappointed when they actually played it. I can see the comments section saying "this game sucks!" later in the future, but hopefully that won't be the case.
Capcom's taking the direction of the game well I would say. It's still Resident Evil to the core even with the change in gameplay style, well not really since there's Leon's scenario which compensates for the lack of zombies in 4 and 5. The only thing that will buttfuck the entire series is another Operation Raccoon City and if they somehow make RE7 into a city simulator, an RTS, or a racing game like Twisted Metal, or make it RE in space. Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is an example on how it has ruined a franchise completely. And Capcom's new DMC. It's funny how a change in character destroys the entire franchise even though it still is Devil May Cry in gameplay.
If they make RE7, I want to see HUNK, Nicholai and Billy Coen taking part in it. The reunion will make lots of deaths and outbreaks though, so not really recommended.
@Kingdededee @Kaz32 @Chaos_Dante_456 You couldn't be further from the truth...RE6 was slammed for trying new things and doing them wrong. That's the difference. I think the game was doomed though anyway. It was going to be a Damned if you do, damned if you don't type scenario. People would bitch either way.
@Chaos_Dante_456 I have no problems with any reviewer that states everything about the game and with good reasons why they give their score. This review is what a liar that can say whatever he wants does. One of the few times that I can honestly say that a reviewer is just lazy and just accentuating the negatives without thinking the positives as what an objective reviewers should do.
@Chaos_Dante_456 Then you have not played RE4 and 5 at all if you found the game unplayable, or you don't know how to play these games right. It's all about headshot + melee at the right time. My point is 4.5 is an insult that deserves to be given for mediocre games with little to less reasons to replay again, like Kane and Lynch Dog Days that is only 4 HOURS, or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow. Wait, that game is dogshit. That's what you call a Gears of War knockoff that has destroyed the entire franchise. And it's only 3 HOURS MAX.
You want to agree to the reviewer, fine. But think about his complaints: does the negatives hinders the score to 4.5 on factual and reasonable grounds? QTE's, action set pieces, constantly ripping control from you which is just stupid since I don't understand what part of the game has your controls get ripped, and "bad controls and camera" which I found hard to believe? The only good thing the guy said is good voice acting, intriguing narrative structure and great sound effects. What about the singleplayer experience that's up to 30 hours+, the 100+ unlockable character extras, various skills that allows replayability, Mercenaries mode, Agent Hunt mode, Ada Wong's singleplayer/multiplayer hybrid that lets you help other human players mid game, and the awesome bosses like the Ustanak, Simmons and Carla? How the fuck are those things not mentioned? This game would got a 7.0 from all that, not a 4.5.
@Kaz32 Well they are still a videogame news site. And this is news about a videogame. it's not promoting it's simply stating what's new and going on. Noone is obligated to please others with a review. But they do have an obligation to report on things many may be interested to know whether the person who rights the article likes the game or not.
Also I'm certainly no COD fan (never owned one) but i have played a few of the games they and aren't bad they just lack innovation to justify so many & frequent sequels. They are certainly better shooter than RE6
Personally i don't know if I would have went with a 4.5 either. But there were times I found the game unplayable. I only really enjoyed it because of playing with my homeboy, and we just cracked jokes on the obsurdity of the story as well as the bad game design. &.5 is probably a bit geneorous it's about a 6.5 or 5
And one review score should never be judged against someone else's review on a supposedly better/worse game. Yeah Last time I checked GS was made of several reviewers who are all different people. The negatives were clearly stated and they were right.
Not even going to get into all the hate for this game when I still don't understand why so many people hate re5. Sure it wasn't scarey but it was still a great game IMO...
@TimboII Oh and fyi if isnt scary any more it isnt a horror game anymore.Which is what RE fans want...a horror game....ya know...speaking the original RE and RE2 practically defined the genre as we know it....
@TimboII People hate 6 because it basically isn't Resident Evil anymore.
It is now a generic action shooter with lots of quicktime events.
If you played the "agent hunt" (or whatever it's called) mode, you'll know why cute idea of being able to play as the enemy is in "Survivors" or "Predator" Mode will be HORRIBLE TO THE EXTREEEEMEEEEEE. The only way it'd be fun is if they completely reconstructed the mechanics. Playing as an enemy unit in "Agent Hunt" (still don't remember what it's actually called) was so fudging stupid, because A) when you attack, you attack as fast as a turtle on estacy B) your attacks are SO linear that all the agent has to do is side step, shoot your face, and then promptly use an action sequence to kill you.
Other than that, Siege mode sounds better than Onslaught mode; I hope they release that later.
I actually prefer a new chapter than new mode games.. or a costume pack for all characters may be nice..
Campaigns were "playable" (completed each one twice), but Mercenaries mode was just not enough to keep me around this time: Shoot baddy in the face, melee him, shoot baddy in the face, melee him (ad infinitum, yawn). Traded it in :-/
The last game i played was RE4...it's a good thing i stopped playing the series or i would''ve ruin my good memories with the sereis :/
Capcom it was funny when players Did not had Damn ammo in 1-3 and they had to start Fresh game, PPl had fun with Scary atmosphere when Nemesis was Runing after player. Coop and zombies with guns makes game Generic shooter sadly.
