Capcom releases trial for October's horror action game on Microsoft's home console for owners of May's action RPG; demo headed to PS3 on Sept. 5.
Resident Evil 6 does not ship until October, but Xbox 360 gamers who purchased May's Dragon's Dogma can try out the game today. As was detailed in January, a demo for the new action shooter is now available on Xbox Live for those who redeem a onetime-use code found inside copies of Dragon's Dogma. The demo will become available on the PlayStation Network on September 5.
The Resident Evil 6 demo includes three missions taken from the game's three distinct campaigns that focus on protagonists Chris Redfield, Leon Kennedy, and Jake Muller. In the Chris Redfield mission, players will face off against the nasty J'avo humanoid creature with colleague Piers Nivans on rooftops in China.
During the Leon Kennedy mission, gamers will fight alongside Helena Harper while exploring the inside of the Ivy University campus, which is replete with zombies. Finally, the Jake Muller mission takes place in a war-torn Edonia and has players teaming up with Sherry Berkin to escape the clutches of the Ustanak, a new enemy type in Resident Evil 6.
Capcom did not say when or if it plans to make the Resident Evil 6 demo available to those who do not hold a copy of Dragon's Dogma, and a company representative told GameSpot, "No announcements have been made."

All they have to do is the same thing they did in RE4, same mechanics, improve graphics, more different zombies, different story. RE5 suck, why are they making it look like RE5. Oh deeee
@zpluffy Leon campaign is what you re looking for , chris will be like 5 and jake feel like a mix of both with a touch of re 3 .

7 Like what is this, more bullets were fired in this demo then all my playthroughs of RE1-4 combined. where is the survival, where is the horror.
2 Like Having watched some reviews I'm still on the fence...
RE4 was SO GOOD and RE5 was a huge disappointment. I loved tweaking the weapons, rearranging the suitcase (can I combine theses ammo boxes and reload so I can fit that new gun!?....whew!), and running into the merchant for upgrades!
Run/gun/cover is finally a step in the right direction, but the inventory system still seems questionable. You had a great system Capcom! Just because you keep something that works does not mean you are lazy or unimaginative. It worked and it was fun. Period.
Bring that kind of "customization" back and I'll save my rant on the " survival horror" this series has misplaced (in addition to the characters becoming moody, whiny, angst ridden jerks) for some other time.

3 Like It's awul. I didn't think it could be as bad as RE-ORC but judging from playing the Leon demo it is. I don't even want to play the other 2 demos after that. I can't say I'm surprised after seeing the E3 demo but it's still disappointing to see that my favourite series has become dog crap.
@mickyfinn84 i had more fun with the leon demo then the entire RE orc game . So i don t agree with you one bit about the demo making it seem as bad as the ORC fiasco .

1 Like survival horror my butt... and now it has regenerating health and no more herbs.. wow that really sucks. and whats up with 1k special edition?? things just are not looking good for resident evil IMO! I think dead space will be a much better survival horror game. RE is shooting to much to be an action game these days and I hate it.
WHAT!? Regenerating health? are you serious?...WOW yeah we can't even fit the word survival on this anymore just action...Jesus.
PS the next Dead Space is set on a planet covered in snow and features co-op.

@djpetitte i personally played the "short" demo. The combat feels like RE:ORC with free flow 3rd p. shooter. - is it bad? NO, it just needs fine tune for sensitivity and movement speed (shoulder view while aiming should be have slower movement like most 3rd p. shooter). Currently the aiming feels like playing on PS3 controller.
Key mapping is horrible and Hard to understand. Theres no more inventory management. Seriously who complain about the RE5 inventory should get slapped.

I have not played the demo, no. However, I have watched previews and game footage from the demo and read many things about and it's plain to see that it is headed away from survival horror. The last great Resident evil IMO was 4.
@Deadly_Nemesis I like the sounds of survival horror co op only because Ive seen l4d and killing floor pull it off in multiplayer. Snow covered planet sounds cool almost something like the thing. yeah I wish there were more good survival horror games these days. I loved alan wake and shadows of the damned.

I'm going to miss doing melees from RE4/5. Now you can melee anytime ... which is great but for some reason I don't think I'll ever enjoy that as much as the old melees.
@WeskerTeam There is still the vital-sensitive attacks you can perform. Head, arms and leg vital points are still there for more advanced melee.

1 Like guys guys calm down, this is Capcom way to increase the fan base on X360, it's well known most of capcom games sell bettet on PS3, and this is the only way they can think of to make it happen.

5 Like Resident Evil 6 Xbox 360 demo out today for everyone with a torrent client and a USB stick.
I can understand why everyone has a problem with this, me being a PS3 user as well. However at the same time I personally don't care too much about it. I just watched the demo on youtube and I saw everything that I needed to see. In my opinion it's justs like RE5, full of action with little to no horror. Either I'll buy it second-hand or just skip it entirely.
O_O Okay, 360 players who bought Dragon's Dogma NEW get to play the demo now but the PS3 users have to wait until September? JJ flip, what the zip?!
That sound utterly ridiculous. It's not a release for a game but it's for a demo, a DEMO. LOL! At this rate, we might as well just wait an extra month for the game.

(To anyone who'll insult me for being a PS3 user, I own a 360 and a PS3. It's just that I forgot the memo about the RE6 demo being released early for 360 users. No, I actually bought Dragon's Dogma because I wanted too, not because of some demo. I got the PS3 version.)
@Drakillion It's not just the demo being released exclusively on the Xbox 360 2 months ahead of the PS3, but also exclusive DLC content for Xbox 360 ahead of PS3, which it's not okay in my book.
