Saints Row makes GTA look like my mom's bra strap. A little advice: Stay away from my mom. She starred in Godzilla.
Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Devil's Third designer confirmed to be making in-game debut with Volition's upcoming open-world action game.
One of the big features THQ has planned for Saints Row: The Third is a character creation feature that lets players dictate their in-game avatar's race, body, face, hair, makeup, and personality. However, for those who would prefer a preexisting character, THQ confirmed today at the Tokyo Game Show that game designer Tomonobu Itagaki will be playable in the game.
Itagaki will appear in the game as he frequently does in real life: sporting a leather jacket and sunglasses. The designer is currently working on another THQ-published project, Devil's Third, the first effort from his own upstart Valhalla Game Studios. Prior to a litigious fallout with Tecmo, Itagaki oversaw the company's modern Ninja Gaiden games and the Dead or Alive fighting and beach vacation franchises.
In development at Illinois-based Volition, Saints Row: The Third picks up with the player running the Third Street Saints. Once a small-town gang, the Saints have grown to control the organized crime within Stilwater and even have their own brand, with licensed sneakers, energy drinks, and bobbleheads. However, the Saints' success has drawn the attention of the globally powerful Syndicate, a criminal fraternity that insists on a cut of the action. Players will adopt the role of a member of the Saints who must relocate to the Syndicate's hometown of Steelport after a botched bank robbery forces them to flee Stilwater.

Am I the only person thinking to myself, "Who cares!?" This is one of the stupidest stories I've read in a while.I could care less about this guy!
Saints row has more variety and stuff to do, but GTA has better gameplay, graphics, and more believable characters.
Itagaki is the man.NGB is still the best in the series and from what i've seen so far NG3 doesn't really excite me at all.
i agree with ronnet this game will rock ive been a gta nut since it was on ps the best was san andreas then they went real life suckkked saints row lets you have fun i want real life i'll open my door
You can, as a gamer explain the ups and downs of GTA and Saints Row, but you can't possibly say which one is better, because you're a gamer of choice. Some people prefer GTA, some Saints Row and some both of them.
@iamnessie, GTA was one of the first, if not the first game in the genre now known as 'openworld action games'. At any rate GTA3 was the first to bring this genre to the full 3D playing field which revolutionized it. GTA:SA was the most of the top of all the GTA games and the original Saint's Row was an obvious clone of it. But GTA has since then retreated to its more serious nature (albeit with sarcasm and comical elements). While Saint's Row has continued the over the top action and even went futher then GTA ever went. Right now Saint's Row is as much its own franchise as Just Cause is within the openworld action game genre. I wouldn't consider it a clone at all. It;s easy to love GTA and hate Saint's Row (and vice versa) because they are so different.
@iamnessie, I don't agree about this game being a GTA clone, it does share its genre, but it's a fun-crazy game that deserve it's own spot and respect. I played SR2 a lot, and I had 1000% more fun then the whole of GTA4.
Even though the series is a GTA clone in pretty much every sense, the games are some good action packed fun that doesn't take itself too seriously. i love it despite the major problems it has.
@ Crunchb3rry: How dare you, asking Itagaki being available on easy, Itagaki pwns gamers who prefer easy games, that's why he makes games that makes you cry while running to your mommies...lmaorofl......
Nice marketing , still would like to know what devil's third is all about though; why are they still so tight-lipped about it
****yeah! what would team ninja think now? a falling out can give u a 2nd chance with someone, a game cameo!
Nice to see game developers giving other devs nods like this, even as their publishers are trying to tear each other's throats out.
That's actually a nice stunt. Younger gamers may not know how legendary Itagaki is. To be honest, I m not yet sold on his Tokyo Vikings project. The characters looks generic, along with the scenario. I do hope the gameplay won't disappoint.
I'll choose him just to see his player get tossed halfway through the city. SR 3 may be cool, but he's an ass.
cant U ppl see the BEAUTY of it? Itagaki is THE perfect guy to show up in such a REDICULOUS over the top game like this! EPIC WIN ALL THE WAY!
