Sega's 5.1 lineup
Several upcoming Sega Xbox games will support Dolby 5.1 sound.
Sega has released a list of the upcoming Xbox games that will include Dolby Digital 5.1 sound support. The list includes ToeJam & Earl III, Panzer Dragoon Orta, The House of the Dead III, and Sega GT 2002.
"Dolby Digital will give players information that cannot be visually described onscreen," said Akihiko Mukaiyama, director of Panzer Dragoon Orta. "With the control system in Panzer Dragoon Orta, players can look freely to the front, back, left, and right while they are flying, allowing them to anticipate key plot points or enemies approaching from different directions, which makes gameplay experience that much more immersive."
Sega GT 2002 is scheduled for release in September. It will be followed by ToeJam & Earl III and House of the Dead 3, which are both scheduled for release in October. Panzer Dragoon is currently slated for a November release.
