Shippin' Out 4/3-4/7: Tourist Trophy, MLB 2K6
Polyphony Digital goes two-wheeling on the PS2 while 2K Games hits the diamond with a double header.
Between the Florida Gators' Final Four championship apparel, the fourth and final season of Knight Rider on DVD, the new Flaming Lips album "At War With the Mystics," and the sugary supplies needed for camping out at the local multiplex for tickets to Mo'Nique's Phat Girlz, there's a lot of new stuff out there clamoring for a gamer's disposable income this week. Thankfully, the recent flood of big releases seems to be recessing for the moment, although the week is not entirely devoid of notable titles.
Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital is hitting the streets on two wheels for the first time with the motorcycle racing sim Tourist Trophy on the PlayStation 2. Check out the full review to see how it handles.
2K Sports' Major League Baseball 2K6 for the PS2 and Xbox should be sliding into stores now, with PlayStation Portable, GameCube, and Xbox 360 versions in the on-deck circle for later this month. PSP owners looking for something new needn't wait for MLB 2K6 however, as portable versions of From Russia With Love, Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, and Bust-A-Move all arrive on the handheld this week.
Over on the PC, players can revisit Vivendi Universal's cop shooter SWAT 4 in the new Gold Edition package, check out the latest Full Spectrum Warrior title with Ten Hammers, or crunch numbers with the ballpark stat-sim Baseball Mogul 2007.
For a complete rundown of all the week's new releases, including video reviews, trailers, and other offerings, check out GameSpot's New Releases page. Release dates are compiled from publisher and retail sources and are subject to change.
