This has been an awesome year so far to be a gamer. Too many great games coming out that I need to make time to play.
Shippin' Out April 11-17: Splinter Cell: Conviction, GTA Episodes for PS3, PC
Ubisoft's long-delayed stealth-action game finally creeps into retail along with the Windows and Sony-console expansions for GTAIV; Final Fight: Double Impact hitting XBLA, PSN.
Four years after Splinter Cell: Double Agent, the next installment in the Tom Clancy-inspired franchise is finally sneaking into retailers. Following several delays and a wide-ranging overhaul of its gameplay, Splinter Cell: Conviction will finally arrive this Tuesday--on the Xbox 360, anyway. The PC edition of the M for Mature-rated title is due two weeks later on April 27, with a DS spin-off due at a later date.
Conviction is set two years after Double Agent, which saw series hero Sam Fisher become a fugitive from the FBI, NSA, and an alphabet soup of other agencies. In the course of investigating his daughter's death, the now-grizzled Fisher learns that his former employer, the covert organization Third Echelon, has double-crossed him. The game will be available solo, as part of an $80 special edition, or in a $400 bundle with a 250GB Xbox 360. Check back Tuesday for GameSpot's full review.
Gamers who prefer more direct confrontation can get it in the form of the expansions for the 2008 blockbuster Grand Theft Auto IV. Tuesday will see Rockstar Games release Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for the PlayStation 3 and PC at retail and the compilation's two expansions--The Lost & Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony--a la carte online. All three were released last year for the Xbox 360 and received high critical praise for the mayhem they added to the original GTAIV, which has sold more than 15 million units worldwide.
Also of note this week is Capcom's Final Fight: Double Impact. Available as a download on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, the game sports a tweaked version of the 1989 arcade original Final Fight, as well as next year's side-scrolling arcade action game Magic Sword. The "Double Impact" moniker has been used by Capcom once before for 2000's Street Fighter III: Double Impact on the Dreamcast, a combo pack featuring the arcade fighter's first two revisions.

Final Fight! Other than that this week sucks. Didn't care about GTA expansions when they were exclusive and don't care now. GTA is overhyped crap. Splinter Cell Conviction looks like it would make for an ok rental and that's about it. 5 hours long? What is this 1990?
I use to be a gamecube fanboy couple of years ago and I must admit that it was pissing me off each time a game was release on ps2 and 6 mount later on the gamecube(when it was release at least lol).So I can feel the pain for ps3 players... Its awefull having to wait when others can play and not you...
Oddly enough, I got the call for the PC version at Gamestop. Called them directly after because I know it was "delayed" on the PC and they said they had PC versions of SC:Conviction in stock. So idk what's going on. Going to check today. MS may be trying to pull a fast one here or Gamestop is wrong. Not sure.
ITS LIKE UNCHARTED 2 FOR PC I PLAYED UNCHARTED 2 AND WAITING FOR IT ..SPLINTER CELL IS SUCH A NICE GAME HIS ACTION ARE SUCH A REAL AND GAMEPLAY AWESOME THANK YOU UBISOFT TO MAKE GAME LIKE THIS FOR PC NOW I SEE THE FUTURE OF PC IS BRIGHT.
I would have easily bought the DLC for GTA4 if it came out the same time as it did for the xbox360. Since developers feel its okay to support one platform over the other after the release of a multiplatform game for a quick buck I will have to pass on this one. I can understand if a company like Valve wants to make Xbox360 games only to cut down on costs for producing games on two different systems but if you make a mulitplatform game you should support both systems fully.
I'm really looking forward to Splinter Cell Conviction but I'm getting it on PC so have to wait a little while longer for some reason, I'm also thinkin about getting The Ballad of Gay Toni for PS3(already have the lost & damned for s***box 360) Hillsy_ said - "Is Spinter Cell Conviction really only a 5 hour single player campaign?" That's what IGN said in their review, I'm not that bothered because I'm honestly lookin forward to the co-op campaign more, just as long as there'll be another Splinter Cell game after it because I really hope this one doesn't end the series because it would be a shame in my opinion.
i dont know what you see in Spliner Cell. all the old once were trach why should i expect this one to be good?
@ force_user1975 WRONG..........it may not be and I will only be buying it for 360 but.........remember when RE4 dude said that he would cut off his own head if RE4 showed up on anything other than GameCube????..........well that happened..............except for the head cutting off part. FF13 on both.........GTA on both........next MGS on both........so while that may be the case now (before the game is released).........it MAY not always be the case........PS3 install base is quite large now and Ubi could capitalize on multiplatforming it.

i saw many trailers and gamplay but i didn't like the graphics of Splinter Cell: Conviction, i may get it after the reviews, i'v just finished FF XIII and God of war 3, now i have to play Yakuza 3 i have time b4 getting it.
@lowkey254 Splinter Cell Conviction is NOT a timed exclusive. It's never going to be on PS3.
MS is really shelling out the cash to keep their timed exclusives. Good for business I guess

just for every one on here the splinter cell im playing right now is alright, the only thing i dont like is even on the reallistic the handguns has as much ammo as it wants
still havent played the new gta episodes. bought it for 360 at a pawn shop about a month and a half ago for 12 bucks.wonder what final saga is? only buy for me is final fight DI, splinter cell will make a good rental or a good buy when i find it cheaper.
Final Fight FINALLY on XBLA with online co-op!! I've waited so long to taste such satisfaction. Thanks Capcom for bringing some of us back to our childhood years.

There is definitely not much coming out. I was never a fan of GTA or Splinter Cell.... ah well. I can't wait till Modnation comes out!!!!!!!
