@DragonRift yes the zelda formula is the same but first off what do you expect what about games like cod halo gow. In cod you shoot people halo you shoot people gow you shoot people i'm sure they are fun but i"d rather play a game that requires me to think rather mash then buttons for 5 hours like an idiot

My poor poor wallet is going to be hurting with 3 great games out today. Zelda,King of Fighters and Tekken. The only other problem I have is which one to play first.

It might be time to dust off the Wii. I can't stop playing my 360 to actually go out and grab some more titles for my Wii. I still want to grab Super Mario Bros Wii and DKC, but until they quit releasing so many darn good games it looks like I'll have to wait. Skyward Swords looks like a must-buy at launch to me though.

@Blue-N-Yellow Couldn't agree more. Dozens of other games have "similar" gameplay, but no one bashes them except Nintendo games.

Just waiting for the gold controller bundle in the mail.The wait is almost unbearable. @Blue-N-Yellow It tends to be pretty obvious that the majority of the complaints about unoriginality of Nintendo games come from "people" (I use the term very loosely) who have never touched a Nintendo console.Double standard indeed.

Pretty nice week. Definitely pickin' up KOF XIII tomorrow, since I pre-ordered it. Can't wait for the 4-Disc Soundtrack bonus! Also, Zelda of course, Sonic Gen 3DS, and Tekken Hybrid (yay for Tag Tourney in HD!)

I am so tired of Nintendo games receiving a double-standard when it comes to changing up their game formulas. People will lambast Mario and Zelda for being rehashed, and yet praise new GTA and MW iterations. New Modern Warfare comes out every freakin' year now; it is the same damn game as the previous year. Yeah, they added new guns and new maps and a new campaign. The core gameplay elements have not changed. This is the case for the majority of shooters this gen, and they are all using the same graphics engine. Grand Theft Auto: the core gameplay does not change from III. New city, characters, weapons, vehicles, etc. The gameplay is the same. Are these games bad? No. But why is it that when a new Zelda comes out, which is every 5 years or so unlike shooters which get pumped out in 1-2 years, it gets bashed for keeping the gameplay elements the same? They keep the OoT gameplay the same because it was an amazing game, it sold a ton and the fans LOVED it. Why should they fix it if it's not broken? Especially when other games aren't held to the same standard? Seriously, someone show me how Gears of War 3 has more differences from Gears 2 than Skyward Sword does from Twilight Princess. Anyone, show me a list. Not a fanboy alert; I own all 3 consoles, GTA and Gears included. I'm just saying that I buy games because I like the core gameplay; if they changed it too much then I would no longer buy them.

Reviews mean nothing. The same person gave Infamous 2, Ratchet and Clank Future 1, a score of 7.5. I also find it strange that a doggone for Arkham City was reviewed before Sonic Generations was. I also find it strange that games can and will get marked down for something like not having online, not having streetpass, this or thatt, but let a game cut a piece of story content behind an online pass and see if that makes the cut to the cons.

That Skyward Sword bundle with the Wiimote.... I WANT IT. Also, lol at Tom McShea, there's a reason the game has a 95 average on Metacritic.

Ill admit I thought claims of this game being the best zelda were clearly overrated, but the 7.5 surprised me, I was expecting closer to 8.5 or 9 on gamespot. That being said if you have this game as your GOTY you are clearly bias, there is no way its better than Dark Souls, Skyrim, arguably Gears 3, and then you have dark horse original titles like Catherine. The fact is looking at gameplay and videos its like many said, it looks oldhat. Its still a quality title, but nothing breath taking. Though I will agree MW 3 was overrated.

Its amazing how much is different about Skyward. Motion Control Combat,Stamina, Upgrade System and wall jumping. I am only at the 2nd dungeon but thats a lot so far. The 7.5 review is so bogus!

@DragonRift they did make many changes I am not arguing the score but they added alot to this new Zelda and it has changed alot more than any COD has since MW has this gen.

I love how folks are raging over Zelda's 7.5 score... Look, the review has a valid point. The formula has been beaten to death with a club for years. The franchise barely tries to break free from the familiar mold. But... It's 7.5. That's still a POSITIVE score. They still recommend it to fans. I thought it was very fair. We're sure to enjoy the game, but you have to admit, they really need to try something fresh.

Regardless of the controversial GameSpot review and the reviews from some outlets, Skyward Sword's sales will not be affected. Most buyers either do not care about reviews and probably never heard of the outlets that gave the game less than glowing reviews.

I don't know if I should pick up Skyward Sword. I mean, Tom McShea's 7.5 score and review told me that the controls don't really work right and the... BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Nah, just kidding. I'm still buying this game because it's going to be amazing.
