Shippin' Out Nov. 27-Dec. 3: Infinity Blade II
The launch calendar takes a post-Thanksgiving nap as Epic Games' iOS-exclusive sword-swinging sequel leads a light week at retailers.
The 2011 release calendar has slowed down significantly following the Black Friday unofficial kickoff to the retail holiday season. This week's biggest release comes in Infinity Blade II for Apple mobile platforms, backed by an assortment of PC and DS titles.
Infinity Blade II is the follow-up to last year's hit iOS PunchOut!-esque sword battle game. The story plays a bigger part in the second entry, with the player traversing an aesthetically Asian-influenced land. The first game's protagonist is back, but after defeating the God King, he finds himself a hero without a purpose. Players must battle through various bosslike enemies to conquer the new game's antagonist, "The Worker of Secrets." Developer Chair Entertainment says that Infinity Blade II will start to answer some of the questions posed in the first game.
