Bethesda working to bring "a little more info" on latest Elder Scrolls title and future add-on content plans as early as next week; Kinect patch date not finalized.
Since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launched in November 2011, developer Bethesda Game Studios has not offered news on the first downloadable content for the game, but that may change next week.
Bethesda vice president of public relations and marketing Pete Hines wrote on Twitter this morning that the studio is "working on getting a little more info out on Skyrim / DLC." As for a timetable, Hines said gamers can expect news "maybe next week. We'll see."
Though Bethesda has not offered anything concrete regarding DLC for Skyrim, some details about forthcoming content have been dropped. Last June, Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard said Skyrim will have fewer but more substantial DLC packs.
Additionally, in August 2011, Microsoft announced that Skyrim DLC will launch as timed exclusives for the Xbox 360. That platform will be the sole destination to play Skyrim add-ons for the first 30 days, after which the content will head to other platforms.
On top of teasing the first Skyrim DLC, Hines noted that Bethesda is in the process of confirming a solid release date for the role-playing game's Kinect patch. The update is expected sometime in April, with one report suggesting it will launch this week.

Same here fernin-ker only i have come across a few graphical glitches, i have not run into anything gamebreaking in three complete playthroughs. One of them was a save from a pc save (edited stats) still no problems so i dunno what people are doing but they must be doing it wrong lol.
So, am I like the only person in existance whom played through Skyrim (twice, once sneaky, once as a mage), completed every quest, and hit not a SINGLE glitch?
Oh and to even up the debate - dont blame Bethesda 100% for PS3 Skyrim's faults - the fault is obviously with the PS3's architecture as even the supposedly 'inferior' 360 runs this game so much better...
@untouchable420 I agree. @dysguised22 You are right also. If you don't realise that you're going to get better graphics on a PC than on a console, you clearly live on another planet. And that is from a 360 and Wii user.
Now I've battled through 180 broken hours of Skyrim and completed pretty much everything in it, I'm ready for some new stuff - I just make sure they put in a bit more effort into making the extra content not broken. Having to play through a supposed AAA game with forums open half the time was a total joke and it deserved to not win as many awards as it could/should have if they had delayed a month or two and released a working game.
And lastly...I wasn't referring to other games from other genres. I'm speaking solely about the Elder Scrolls series. I consider consoles to be better for other titles from other genres. Have you ever tried to play assassins creed on a pc then play it on ps3? Controls for a mouse and keyboard just sucked for me yet were infinitely more fluid on the ps3 controller. I don't hate anyone just bc they play a game on a diff console. I just hate the complainers when they had the info of the better situation for what, the past 10 years or so. (whenever morrowind and it's creation kit were released.)
I admit I'm a bit confused at the responses I got. First...I did say with the exceptions of those that don't want to pay or simply can't pay the amount for an above average comp. I get it. Most economies suck. I was referring to those who have the comps but still get it for another platform then complain that they got the short straw. And considering I have never played a game on "ultra" settings til about 6 hours after it's release...I'm quite far from "graphic snob" but honestly, if Bethesda released an updated graphics pack for xbox and ps3 today bc they figured out a better way to optimize higher gfx...it'd have 5 million downloads by tonight. To call me a snob bc I chose to have better gfx bc I play it on pc is like a bicyclist who can afford a Lexus (but chose the bicycle) and namecalls the guy driving a Honda. And yes, the game is great regardless of how shiny it is. Never said it wasn't. But as I said...there are simply more capabilities and/or options with pc since Morrowind and it isn't a secret. Hopefully this clarifies my previous "snobby" post.
I will wait for GOTY edition to get all the DLC at once. Just traded in the core game this week to apply toward summer pre-oprders of Spec Ops and Max Payne 3
@dysguised22 Maybe some people aren't graphics snobs. The game is still great regardless of how shiny it is. @vallum88 A better idea to make up for the gamebreaking release bugs would be if review sites like GameSpot had to pay for the the DLC on behalf of the players. After all, the blame partially (or ultimately) rests with the reviewers who were lazy and or dishonest when reviewing this game and gave the PS3 version near perfect scores.
@valium88 Ok then, i didn't understood your comment. Sorry. But i still don't care about timed exclusive. It means they're working on a single platform, and later work on the other. At least on my way of seing things. @Hellcanwait I could bet that the "gamebreaking" bugs were already solved. Or anything stuck through the scenery is a gamebreaking bug? The only bug it ever troubled me was "Reapairing the White Phial" quest being locked. But that was solved.
how about doing something about the gamebreaking bugs before thinking about releasing dlc..... I'm so done with bethesda
I'd like to see a patch for graphics enhancement, like water shader flow, snow footstep etc.
@Frosty192 Yeah...that's completely true. Bethesda released a program that fully supports modding, but that doesn't mean anything since they clearly don't care about modders...get your head out of your arse

@untouchable fix your computer, game runs sweet on my pc. Even switching tasks while playing the game doesnt cause it to crash.
Nope. I am going to wait for Ultimate Edition for this game. I wont pay for all these DLC's.
I have not had as many problems since the last update on my xbox my friend has it on ps3 and he says there is all kinds of problems says its always freezing but im realy excited to see what kind of dlc they add wish they would allow dlc from modds created on pc would be awsome
Is this is a f-ing joke?! FIX THE BUGS THAT BREAK THE GAME, a working game is much more enjoyable then content being released thats going to end up causing more problems.
usually i don't care about DLC but when it comes to Bethesda n' Rockstar i always expect a huge nice expansion ,thats always welcome...
I don't understand those who complain about timed DLC but would understand them if the game was an exclusive... I agree that some might not like the timed exclusive (still 30 days of waiting isn't so much, plus you would have the opportunity to read all the reviews of the dlc by the time you will be able to purchase it, so you could avoid wasting money on a bad dlc...) . But those who say that a timed dlc would be ok on an exclusive game clearly aren't thinking... Why would they do that??? If the game is already an exclusive, what would be the use of timed dlc? Just switch on your brain before writing, it isn't that hard...
They've already added a few things to the game for free, so I'm expecting these DLCs to be quite bulky.
@dysguised22: because graphic isn't everything; because a lot of the most original and experimental title are on console (the indie scene is only recent and goes along with the pc, but look at what they made in japan); because games on console may be more expensive than on pc, but the platform is far less expensive; because fps and strategy game apart many consider a gamepad to be better than mouse+keyboard (to be honest many, including me, prefer gamepad even for fps); because there are a lot of genre that almost doesn't exist on pc (fighting games, survival horror, jrpg, action/adventure like castlevania, god of war, devil may cry, bayonetta and so on); because we may have stupid kids and idiot racist over the xbox live (and I think even psn but I don't have a ps3) but the overall people playing online on console is far more friendly than most of pc users who believe to be better than anyone; because in console game history virus or similar problem are almost non-existent making them safer... these are just some of the main reasons. I don't hate pc game, I would play more if my pc doesn't treat me to melt everytime I start something. What I hate are pc or console gamers that hate each other believing they are superior because of some nonsense reason... Does this answer your question?
God bless Bethesda and preserve them :P corny I know but Bethesda is one of the few companies out there that makes amazing single player games so sue me...
@dysguised22 My pc isn't great for games, i need to upgrade or replace it at some point. But the main reason i am mainly a console gamer atm is that all of my friends use them, other than that there are console exclusives and i prefer using a controller for some genres...but apart from those things i agree, pc is far better.
I don't understand why people still buy this game on any other platform besides PC. I understand those who maybe don't (or can't) want to pay a high price for a decent comp to run it but honestly, it's been this way since Morrowind. PC will have better graphics whether Bethsoft tweaks it or not bc of modders enhancing graphics packs. There will be infinitely more content bc of the modders. New weapons, new locations, new quests, new mounts...everything. And there's no need to really deal with the psn
Havent played the game in a little while (i know its shocking, how dare i), so dlc will hopefully get me back into it...i hope they add some cool stuff, perhaps some mods for us poor people with console versions, who can only look in envy. Oh and timed exclusivity sucks, but unfortunately it seems that everyone is doing it now.

**** that. I played it on Xbox 150 hours, then bought it for PC for the modding, and let me tell you... So much better on PC. But I don't know if I can wait 30 days longer for more Skyrim sexyness...
At this point, **** you Bethesda for clearly favoring platforms. I love how I paid $60 for a game that doesn't run well, and now more news about how all the other platforms are getting better but PS3 version still stagnates. I can't forgive them for such a blatantly corrupt move to basically ignore the outcries from PS3 owners while enhancing all others. If I decide to try it again I will do so on a computer, and surely won't be paying for it....
Can't really say that I'll be getting any DLC for Skyrim. I'll be moving on to a fantasy game with a much more interesting world by then... Dragon's Dogma :P
I am not sure why xbox needs to have exclusive DLC for 30 days if the game isn't exclusive to a specific platform.
GOTY edition is like 2 years from now, atleast since they haven't even announced any DLC yet.
Great news, but I'll still wait for the GOTY edition with everything included for one low price down the road. No rush.
Hm, You know I sold this game last month...and I do want to play it again but...it seems one could get a lot more out of the PC version as you can can modd it to your liking, only problem is I am not sure if I can afford it.
