I think this is how publishers/developers will tackle 2nd hand games going forward. I know these DLC's will only be available for Pre Orders but in the very neat future i can see "exclusive" online content and multiplayer only being activated for the first gametag/account that uses it.
Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs Limited Edition will include bonus content
Fans who purchase Sleeping Dogs Limited Edition from an Australian or New Zealand retailer will receive bonus additional content.
Square Enix’s open-world title Sleeping Dogs is set to receive additional bonus content for fans who purchase a limited edition version through Australian and New Zealand retailers.
All three bonus content packs will be available on all Limited Edition platforms, and will include:
"Georges St-Pierre (GSP)" content:
• Exclusive GSP outfit, including t-shirt, headband, and shorts
• The GSP outfit unlocks the “flying punch” and increases grappling and throwing damage
"Police Protection" content:
• “High Speed” mission
• HK Police SWAT outfit
• SWAT assault rifle
• SWAT police vehicle
"Martial Arts" content:
• Shaolin Showdown mission
• Shaolin Warrior outfit (with increased striking damage)
• Bonus Triad XP points
• Wing Chun decoration for safehouse (with temporary combat buff)
Additionally, players with a Just Cause 2 save on their hard drive will also find an exclusive Rico Rodriguez clothes set and hijack ability boost for their game.
Originally set to be published by Activision, the game formerly known as True Crime: Hong Kong was dropped in 2011, and bought by publisher Square Enix, which renamed the title Sleeping Dogs. An open-world crime game set in Hong Kong, the game's full voice acting cast is composed of actors from Asian and American movies and television shows.
Sleeping Dogs will go on sale across Australia and New Zealand on August 16 this year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
