It's incredible how much Capcom is milking fans with small incremental little updates, euh, I mean new releases of the game. Good for them I guess.
Expanded edition of fighting game will be available as downloadable update, stand-alone title; will feature Street Fighter III's Yun and Yang, Evil Ryu, and Oni.
Less than two weeks after it was first outed by the British Board of Film Classification, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition has been officially confirmed. The expanded edition of Super Street Fighter IV is in development for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and it will be available in two versions. On June 7, it will be released as a downloadable upgrade for existing Xbox 360 and PS3 Super Street Fighter IV owners for 1,200 Microsoft points or $14.99. A full console retail product will ship on June 24 in Europe and June 28 in North America, with the PC edition to follow in July. Capcom anticipates the title will get a T-for-Teen rating from the Entertainment Software Ratings board.
The Arcade Edition of Super Street Fighter IV adds four new characters to its roster of 39 fighters. In addition to Street Fighter III veterans Yun and Yang, the game sees a demonic pair joining the roster in the form of Evil Ryu and an even eviler version of Akuma called Oni. Returning fighters include Ryu, Chun-li, Juri, El Fuerte, and Rufus. All characters will be unlocked at the game's start.
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will also sport several technical tweaks. Capcom said the game will sport all-new character balancing, "further refining gameplay." It will also feature an updated replay channel that will let players follow up to five individual player replays, making it easier to track down individual players. The My Channel Advanced option will let players send out their replay data to 50 friends. Finally, the Arcade edition will sport an Elite Channel, which well let players watch replays from players who boast a rating of 3,000 PP or more.
New tweaks, new work on the replay channel, Yang the beast is back, and finally Evil Ryu gets some screen time since freakin alpha. This is worth it.Its more than what you get for buying freakin map packs for COD anyway.Stop complaining.Better than all the dam costume packs...that almost all suck, i mean who here only buys the ones with the ladies? Anyway you would think they would do this for MvC3.I needs more stages, characters, modes, and....ok it just needs more everything.Lack luster game compared to MvC2, or even 1 for that matter -_- Which sucks since i loyally followed the series for many years.Hell i still go play MvC2 in the arcades for a quarter :D
"All characters will be unlocked at the game's start" does that mean that the pc users will have all characters unlocked too?
if bought as a download can my copy of ssf4 still be used as it is right now. without the download content being used if i want to
@megakick yeah!!! Totally agree with you! I took a look at the gameplay and it didn' really click. I'll have to try it though.
this looks good, capcom x tekken not so much. capcom x tekken has parts of MVC, SF and TEKKEN, a mess imo.
i wonder what would happen if E. Ryu and Oni Akuma stood on opposite sides of the screen and they both did their Raging Demon attacks at the same time...
@ wexorian For PC gamers yes, for all of the console gamers, not a chance. Since you missed out on it, the SSFIV edition took out the ability to watch replays of the intros and endings. Hopefully, this will be fixed with the next edition.
another Street fighter seriously.. How about you stop relaunching street fighter and focus on puting more content into MVC3 cause seriously comparing to the 2nd the game is pathetically lack luster in content..
wow thats freakin beast, how cool would it be with evil ryu an evil akuma in MVC3, ahhhh and a evil ken!!!!
@Agent3sephiroth They're repeating the 90's all over again, duder... and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
@anomaly3001 it is DLC. basically a title/balance update. if you do not want it, you can still play with folks who bought the update, the new characters and all. no one is making you buy it.
lets see all the guys saying "OH GOD I HAVE TO BUY A NEW DISC" now. i swear, this game is going to ROCK! and i am getting it. i have some extra msft points. yeah, im gonna get it. for sure!!! CAN NOT WAIT!
Glad to see they're making it a DLC and retail release so we don't have to buy the whole thing again like we did for Super. Good news for the PC types, too- let's hope the hackers actually let Capcom sell a few copies before they work their dubious magic.
Another upgrade. Hope all of this characters will be available in Street Fighter x Tekken. Because if not then there's going to be another upgrade for Street Fighter x Tekken.
Funny how many people actually play this on pc. The pc is the worst platform for such games. And not one you would play on if you had any intention at all of stepping up your game. The pc community of fighting games are the 'casuals' in this case.
@FallenOneX there are more than 4 new character there was no SSIV On PC in this case it's huge "improvement". But other side i would be more happy if they have made SF V story after final game, and i would add ofcourse urien and gill and some other fighters :)
I'm not sweating having to pay for the DLC I'm getting this i bought my copy on Super Bowl weekend so i'm ready :)
