@sensesfail99 Im glad you enjoy mate, really i do but my point is not how poor or good the new game is or may be the point is that its not Syndicate. They banged on about bringing it back and as it turns out its not Syndicate its a decent FPS that caries its name. Most other games manage to improve etc by making changes within the Genre not completely changing it to another game totally. For me this is not syndicate at all, at best its a spin off and we are still awaiting a Syndicate remake with modern visuals etc and the odd tweaks to the game play and story etc. AGAIN this doesn't mean this game is pants (though the reviews are very mixed by player and otherwise) but its more for me a name being used to sell a game that is essentially almost like Deus Ex from what I have played of it which granted was short. I may well reluctantly still play it yet but the use of the name bugs me. They could have at lease put "The" at the start or something and say its not Syndicate. Anywho it bugs the crap out of me and no I cant get past so that's that
Syndicate dev unveils F2P game Cold Mercury
Swedish studio entering free-to-play sector with mysterious new project, remains in search of distribution partner for project with filmmaker Josef Fares.
Syndicate and Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze is planning to enter the free-to-play market with a new game called Cold Mercury, the company announced today on its website.
As translated by GI.biz, Starbreeze CEO Mikael Nermark made it clear this move does not signal the studio's departure from AAA game development.
"We are discussing with several leading game publishers on publisher-financed games, but we will broaden our product portfolio of games in the new business models and segments that have arisen in the games industry," he said.
In addition, Starbreeze said it continues looking for a distribution partner for its upcoming P13 project with Swedish filmmaker Josef Fares (Zozo, Leo). Today's statement did not include mention of release dates or platforms for either Cold Mercury or P13.
Prior to building Syndicate, Starbreeze developed Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (2009), The Darkness (2007), and Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (2004). For more on Starbreeze's latest effort, check out GameSpot's review of Syndicate.
