Tekken 3D Prime time is February 14

Namco Bandai launching 3DS installment in fighting game franchise for Valentine's Day; game to feature more than 40 characters, Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D movie.

The Valentine's Day release slate is getting awfully crowded. February 14 will see the launches of Twisted Metal, Grand Slam Tennis 2, and Binary Domain, not to mention the following day's PlayStation Vita First Edition launch and its accompanying software lineup.

The week's release schedule just got even more packed, as Namco Bandai confirmed a February 14 launch for Tekken 3D Prime Edition on the 3DS. The first Tekken game for a Nintendo portable since 2002's Tekken Advance, Tekken 3D Prime Edition features a roster of more than 40 fighters, from series mainstays Heihachi and Kazuya to recently introduced characters like Lili and Alisa. Namco Bandai is also promising wireless multiplayer action at 60 frames per second and 3DS Street Pass support that will have players trading collectible Tekken cards with others while the system is asleep.

Beyond the fighting action, Tekken 3D Prime Edition will feature the Tekken: Blood Vengeance full-length 3D feature film. The movie follows the android Alisa and Xiaoyu as they get wrapped up in a Mishima family feud for control over the only surviving subject of a mysterious science experiment. It was also included as a bonus in the recently released PlayStation 3 Tekken Hybrid bundle.

[UPDATE]: This article originally included SSX among the games set to launch February 14. Electronic Arts had announced a Valentine's Day release date for the game but has since pushed it back to February 28. GameSpot regrets the error.

I'm deciding between this and Resident Evil Revelations. I'll probably get both, but damn it's hard to decide which one to get first!!!

I bought Tekken Hybrid for the PS3 for nostalgia purposes, but if I had a 3DS I would definitely pick this up too!

Video games are reinventing valentine's day. I like it. Why buy your wife flowers when you could melt her heart with Tekken 3D Prime Time. Sweep her off her feet with some Twisted Metal lovin'. Forget chocolates and romantic dinners, just buy her a Vita the next day. Plenty of ways to spice things up with Touch my Katamari.

@judge__judy Ok,will see if I like it. @zaiwen *Facepalms* He's not even talking about nintendo or anything biased... And Gamespot should have put this video instead of the gameplay trailer :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aBRrCeKAeE

the tekken movie looks awesome in 3D , though im not sure how much of the 3d effect will be visisble on a tiny 3DS screen, id rather get it for ps3 (tekken hybrid) and watch it on a larger 3D tv

Might get this. I do love Tekken, but I've played so much Tekken over the years I kinda got burnt out on the series. I played Tekken 5 and Dark Ressurection so much that by the time I got Tekken 6 I just couldn't enjoy it much. Still its been a while since I've played Tekken now so another handheld Tekken should be pretty fun. I played DR on PSP for an insane amount of time. Hopefully this game has me hooked as much as that did.

leeko_link 57 pts

I will only get this game for the WiFi online play (just like Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition and DOA Dimension before it), not for the crappy movie.

dxdevilex0 - I thought the movie kicked ass. It had me interested the whole movie and it has an awesome fight between the Mishimas at the end

@zaiwen Just because YOU don't, doesn't mean other people will do the same.

DrKill09 39 pts

No thanks. Scrap this crap and give me Tekken 7. :P

maniaxe613 5 pts

A Tekken 3D movie on a portable handheld? That sounds really cool!

Flint247 58 pts

I definitely like Tekken gameplay more than Street Fighter, so I am looking into this.

dxdevilex0 15 pts

Is the movie really that bad? I have not watched it before.

zaiwen 19 pts

now why would i play tekken in a teeny tiny screen?

FusionRain 10 pts

@NoblesseOblige3 OoOoOOO! I know what your username is from!!!! Eden of the East, I loved the series and the movies! Noblesse Oblige, I pray for your continuing service as a savoir.

nintendoboy16 34 pts

Do want! Tekken is awesome and I'll be able to own as my favorite character, Lei Wulong. :D Also add Law and Nina Williams, they are awesome too.

soulless4now 53 pts

Minus the movie, that would make a nice V-Day gift.

thingta42 16 pts

Got Tekken 6 on my psp. So i'll pass. Its basicly a 3d version of that with a crappy movie bundled with it.

neku364 5 pts

NoblesseOblige3 There was tekken for gameboy advance you know.

warrner11 7 pts

any1 tryin to muscle in on Twisted Metal's launch day is askin for soooooo much trouble.

NoblesseOblige3 5 pts

Tekken on a Nintendo? Now I've seen everything...

Iridescent406 47 pts

I kind of wish they'd stop including the movie into Tekken packages. I'm not saying the movie is bad (which it is), but it just uses up space that could've been filled with more characters, a longer story mode, or something like that.

rageman45 6 pts

looks cool and my friend intends to get this game on his 3DS.

dxdevilex0 15 pts

This will be my first tekken game(though I have played it before),and just a question:this game will have online, right?
