The Global Phenomenon Viewtiful Joe is Coming to DVD and UMD!
Press Release
January 5, 2006 - The superhero sensation is sweeping the nation thanks to the heroic exploits of Movieland’s diminutive champion… the tireless, fearless and super-cool VIEWTIFUL JOE, who’s making his domestic DVD and UMD debut on February 7, 2006 from Geneon Entertainment. Based on Capcom’s wildly popular console video game, the vibrant and fun combination of Japanese and American comic-style character design has transformed the kids’ television landscape, securing a solid place as the top-ranked show in its timeslot for children 2-11.
Named Game Of The Year in 2003 by USA Today, VIEWTIFUL JOE has been consistently ranked among many gamers’ favorite franchises worldwide, garnering several accolades including the G-Phoria awards, SpikeTV Video Game Awards and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Games Awards. And with his spunky girlfriend Silvia by his side, VIEWTIFUL JOE continues to take the world by storm, making his triumphant domestic television debut on Kids’ WB, the #1 broadcast network for Saturday morning children’s programming.
Packaged with a limited edition “HENSHIN!” (“transform!”) lenticular card and Joe sticker, the VIEWTIFUL JOE VOLUME ONE DVD and UMD will each be available for a suggested retail price of $19.98. Featuring the opening and closing themes songs in both Japanese and English, as well as a bonus track, the heroic Viewtiful Joe Soundtrack CD will also be available on February 7 for a suggested retail price of $14.98.
