Uncharted 3 and Mirage are up for their own respective Visual Arts awards tonight, but The HotSpot pits indie versus AAA developer here and now.
Both Uncharted 3 and Mirage are up for Best Visual Arts awards at the Game Developers Conference tonight, but that's not all that links the two wildly different games. Naughty Dog FX lead Keith Guerrette joins one-man-show Mario von Rickenbach and Tom Magrino to discuss how developing a "realistic" production like Uncharted 3 is kind of the same, kind of different from making a highly abstract indie game like Mirage.
Wouldn't it be cool if all of these GDC podcast videos were cobbled together in one place? Oh my gosh that's actually something that has happened!
This weeks program is very enjoyable. Great idea with bringing guests from different departments and making a few podcasts.
did the naughtdog artist say that these days games (from major publishers) are more creative and less about a "sure sell?" Isn't that the exact opposite of what everyone who talks about video games think?
