Thor game strikes May 3

Sega's adaptation of God of Thunder's cinematic debut bolts into stores days before film hits theaters, 3DS edition confirmed.

Thunder may be Thor's specialty, but Sega is hoping the Norse deity's May 3 gaming debut will make it rain. The publisher has confirmed that its gaming adaptation of the Thor film will debut on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, 3DS, and DS just ahead of the movie's May 6 release. The 3DS edition is newly confirmed, replacing the PSP version that was part of the original announcement but that has since been canceled.

Sega will be crafting custom experiences for Thor's various platforms. On the Xbox 360 and PS3, the Norseman's first stand-alone adventure will be told from a third-person perspective, where he battles to save Asgard from marauding mythological beasts, as well as iconic comic foes such as Ulik, Ymir, and Surtur. The game will pull heavily from the Norse mythos, and Thor will journey from the fire world of Muspellheim to the frozen tundra of Niflheim.

The Wii version of Thor will largely share the high-definition consoles' storyline. However, Sega has swapped out the graphics for a more stylized look, as well as different cinematic sequences, plot developments, dialogue, and locations. Meanwhile, the DS version will be a 2D side-scrolling adventure, complete with its own storyline and gameplay. Sega has not said which version the 3DS will most closely resemble.

Movie might be entertaining but tell me this why can't the produce a comic book game thats actually good besides x-men legends, marvel vs capcom, or old ones from the 1990's

Tho this game and the movie may be terrible, Thor is awesome! I hope they don't turn out to be too sacrilegious.

once again same awful sega game made into a flim that it wont sell but stick to the flim and i think sega will lose money as well captian so its a flop

I find it ironic that Thor's weapon is a hammer because that is the exact same weapon I'm going to use to destroy this game. :roll:

I have been collecting Thor comics since issue 385. I have been wondering how they are going to pull off this game and the movie. I have a terrible feeling that Avengers, Thor and Captain America are going to be horrible adaptations. On rare occasions like this I hope I am completely wrong.

Game to Movie and Movie to Game stuff is always bad except for the Warriors (PS2) because it had an awsome back story of how the gang was formed and leads into the movie scipt towards the last missions (plus it was developed by rockstar) & John Carpenter's movie The Thing which had awesome AI and Goldeneye 007.

This looks more exciting than the Captain America game, but still, movie tie-ins never look as good as other titles that aren't derived from a film.
