Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 golden
Electronic Arts' perennially popular golf game is being caddied to the factory.
Electronic Arts announced today that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 has gone gold. The ever-popular golf game is set to ship for the PC, Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 on September 20. The game is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $49.95 for consoles and $39.95 for the PC.
Like previous Tiger Woods PGA Tour games, the 2005 edition lets players face off against a variety of golf legends, including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan, as well as current champions like Vijay Singh and Woods himself. The game will feature a refined version of the 2004 edition's GameFace technology, which will allow players to create an "ultradetailed" character bearing their own likeness and a custom wardrobe.
Courses will play a large role in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. Players will be able to alter fairways, greens, and entire courses down to the smallest detail--including the color of the vegetation. The game's "Tiger Proofing" feature will let players edit the difficulty of the holes either by manually adjusting or randomly setting elevation, green size, fairway terrain, and pin position. Players can also combine their favorite holes from preexisting courses, including brand-new additions such as the Edgewood Country Club, Sherwood Country Club, Fancourt Golf Club Estate, and Troon North.
