Robomodo's high-definition skateboarding nostalgia trip hitting PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade this summer; price TBA.
The Tony Hawk franchise will ride again this June. The iconic skateboarder revealed recently via Twitter that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be released on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in June. Previously, the game was expected to arrive sometime this summer.
In development at Robomodo (Tony Hawk Ride, Tony Hawk Shred), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will be the first Tony Hawk title distributed exclusively through digital channels. It will contain levels from the first two Tony Hawk titles, retouched and running on a new game engine. The title will also feature some, but not all, of the songs from the original games.
Confirmed characters for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD thus far include familiar favorites like Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Andrew Reynolds, and Eric Koston, as well as newcomers like Chris Cole, Nyjah Huston, and Hawk's son, Riley Hawk. A firm price for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD has not been announced, but it is expected to sell for "around $15."
$12 and I'm sold. More than that, and I'll have to make sure I don't want to get a hat for my avatar instead......
Activision, maybe you missed the memo, but this series got DESTROYED by Skate years ago. Try doing this thing called THINK OF AN ORIGINAL IDEA FOR ONCE!
@DrKill09 They did with Tony hawk shred.
@ps3gamer1234 That game did very poorly. Mixing skate and snowboarding is not original. Shaun White Skateboarding and Shaun White Snowboarding.
@DrKill09 Skate is a different Genre. They can still coexist because Tony Hawk series is an Arcade Skateboarding game and Skate is a simulation Skateboarding game; The same way that Need For Speed doesn't compete with Forza or Gran Turismo series.
I hope they come out with a copy that is sold in stores and not downloadable, I used to love these games, would be even cooler if the PS3 had backwards compatibility so I could play them without having to go purchase a PS2 again
PS3 does have backwards compatability with PS1, meaning you can play all the TH Pro Skater games...
@shaunn191 Only the PS3s that originally came out have backwards compatibility. They realized that the easiest way to cut costs was to eliminate backwards compatibility. Hence why it went from about $600 to $300 and now to $250.
@UnRelentingAlly "woah! chad muska? im a huge fan!"
some of the worst voice acting in video game history but i yet i have a soft spot for them despite not being the best in the series
This will either be a REALLY good game or a REALLY big disgrace. *cough* *cough* Remember GoldenEye.
I wish I could play THPS 1-3 again. These stupid sequels made me miss them by A LOT. Good hopes for this one.
stupid move by tony hawk
not as dumb as "ride"
but tony hawk should just go with what "skate" brought to the genre
and take it as far as they can in a passionate way
"skate" wouldnt exist without tony hawk
so im not sure why tony hawk runs away from the "skate" formula
Yes it would. Skate is the spiritual successor to Thrasher Skate and Destroy, not Tony Hawk. Thrasher always kicked TH's ass, and still does. It had actual CHALLENGE. I once beat THPS3 five times in one day. TOO EASY.
@DrKill09 i loved thrasher and the way you got chased off the property when the run was over. and when you were in the uk and you got a dog chasing you....because apparently we all get chased by dogs here? still was an extremely fun game
Looks good. It takes me back when I first got THPS1 for playstation. Then I remember having THUG for gamecube, good times.
I was so hyped about this release but then the ''no split screen'' news came and ruined the whole enthusiasm :(
All I need is
and I will throw all my money at this game.
Plz DLC the thps 3, thps 4, thug, and thug 2 maps.. and this better be online..with koth and grafitti
Now this is a HD remake not no crappy half assed upscaling woooo aint played a tony halk's game since proving ground :D
Glad to hear they're at least attempting to bring back the old soundtrack, and 15 bucks sounds about right, please be good!
