If they WILL do Devil May Cry for PSP or if they do the FF series or even some GH (LOL! That should be interesting to play). But really Devil May cry (PSP bound already) some FF (1 and 2 on umd already and tactics as well) and why not some GH 1 or 2 songs..... for real you guys that would be DOPE-AGE!
WipeOut, Jet Moto coming to PS Store along with Blast Factor multiplayer pack; trailers for God of War II, GTHD Concept also en route.
Sony sent out an update regarding the PlayStation Store--the online store for the PlayStation 3--and it's good news for PlayStation Portable racing fans looking for new thrills on the handheld.
Sony has announced that the original PlayStation futuristic racers WipeOut and Jet Moto are both coming to the PlayStation Store for the PSP. The two games are listed as "upcoming," and they will each cost $5.99. Another PS port for the PSP made its way to the PS Store on Friday. Rally Cross, originally released on the PS in 1997, is now available for $5.99.
Also released on Friday was a free costume pack for Genji: Days of the Blade, a trailer for GripShift, and previews of upcoming Warner Bros. movies. Coming soon to the PS Store is a Blast Factor multiplayer pack ($2.99), trailers for God of War II and Gran Turismo HD Concept, and more previews of upcoming Warner Bros. movies.
yeah u got to be careful which ones u download, i didnt realize the first coolboarders sucked that bad, but 5 bucks isnt bad to add games to your psp, u just need the memory. and gametester my ps3 has never took more than 1 hour to download anything off the network.
Just get a psp with firmware 1.50 and get around the usual forums then...you can get all PS1 games to play on a PSP with simple programmes like PSXtoPSP...
Oh man.. i would kll for Crash on the psp. the first games, the best games. And CTR i owned at that game.
Ehh these game are ok but . .. wake me up when they put Crash Bandicoot Warped and CTR onto the PSP.
Aren't there already a lot of free downloadable PS roms out there? I don't see how Sony could still think they could milk cash out of games most of which I've already thrown into the dust bin. Instead I'd prefer PS2 classics, eh?
I'm sure Sony will go past these first early steps and eventually allow a PSP to access the PlayStation Network Store directly so that PSP owners without PS3s can play PSOne games also. I agree that being able to play said games on the PS3 would be tight as well, but I'm less optimistic that Sony will offer it. Even better would be the ability to transfer saved games from the PS3 to the PSP, so that you could play at home and take your game on the go.
i love the psp..... but the ps3 sux to bad i can't download games from the psp page on my psp instead of have to pay 600 dollars to download some games.
MAN why can't they start to release some brand new games to make it worth having a psp as a standalone console like the DS.
That's really stupid, cause if you have to buy a PS3 to download the PS1 games on you're PSP...than you just can play the all those games on the PS3, so it ain't worth it.
I think it's great that Sony is updateing it's old games and takeing them back out for a spin but I would like to DL them without haveing to shell out 600$ extra for a PS3 as my dad will only let me have one game console, and I just love my Xbox360.
These downloads are cool, I paid $5.99 for Hot Shots Golf 2 and it looks way better on the PSP and load times are quicker. But these also need to be play able on the PS3!!
But I want to be able to play them on the PS3 by possibly running them on an emulator installed on the Yellow Linux OS installed on the PS3 (if you so desire). Wipeout is probably good for the PSP, too, as it's got replayability.
They oughta skip the early early games and go right to the best versions, for example there's a version of Jet Moto on PS that combined Jet Moto 1 and 2's tracks and riders, and why bother with the original Wipeout if Wipeout Pure is already on PSP (and is probably much better)? They need to hurry up and start putting Square's classics in the store, then they'll pique my interest. FF 7-9, Tactics, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve and Vagrant Story...then we'll talk.
what is up with sony? right now i need a ps3 to play ps1 games on my psp?! im not getting a ps3 unles there is a huge price drop. so sony is alienating many potential gamers who would download ps1 games to their psp's. there are so many good games that should come over! final fantasy 7,8,tactics metal gear solid suikoden xenogears resident evil 1, 2, 3 ...it could go on for a long time
well by the end of this year no telling how many ps game will be psp bound, but for the ps.... Final Fantasy would blow up BIG time.. FF would be awesome right now
Haha Jet Moto, i used to love that game, aint played it in ages though. Sick game though, one of my all time favs.
One word, Xenosaga. oO.. and 5.5 hours is an incredible amount time, i downloaded both Version 1.0 and 1.1 of the Turismo HD and it took me like 20 minutes for each. If you really have something to complaint about, do it about something that will make the system better, such as background downloads. In other words, being able to download and do other things such as play games or surf the web at the same time. You people need to give constructive criticism so maybe in the long run if Sony is smart, they will listen to us and fix $h|t Thank you have a good day.
First of all to answer a few of your Questions: First. No, you can't play the PS1 games on your PS3, you have to connect your PSP and load it onto your memory card (hope you have the space) to play them. Second. They didn't add anything new to these old games except the fact that you can stretch some of them to fill the wide-screen of the PSP. Other than that, nothing new like wireless multiplayer or leaderboards. Third. Some of these games don't map the controls very well to the PSP so it makes it almost impossible to play, others work like a dream. The biggest issue in this story that seems to be getting overlooked from everyone is that Gran Turismo HD Concept has been on the PS Network for awhile now and they have just updated it to 1.1. The only problem is that if you already downloaded the 600+mg v 1.0 you have to RE-DOWNLOAD the whole 1.1 version just to post your time trials online and as it stands, the PS Network Store download speeds suck. Took me 5.5 hours to download the demo on my 20mg Cable connection. Hope this cleared a few things up for a couple of you.
arucard1086 In response to irrate Sony fans: I don't understand why people get upset when all Gamespot does is give numbers. Not really Microsoft and Nintendo fans' fault that the new Playstation system isn't selling. How many people do you expect to be willing to pick up a system retailing for $599? Isn't selling? Get your fact rights : For the same time period, the PS3 is the second fastest selling console ever. It beats the PS2 (which had the previous record) and X360. Only Wii beats it. The reason why there is PS3 in stores is obvious : the good games are not out yet, so people won't bother about a console, even if they want it, if it doesn't have the games they want yet. Plus, there's a 500$ that offers quite a good deal for anyone who doesn't need Wi-Fi. You can change the hard-drive for way less than 100$, so the only good thing the 60gb version has is Wi-Fi.
I'm bothered by the fact that I have to have a PS3 to download these games. This is simply another example of Sony trying to artificially create value in a system (the PS3) that is simply not worth getting right now.
Well, Wipeout I liked the PSP version, I see no need for the older and inferior PS version myself... Jet Moto.. meh... Also - Discussing the various pros and cons of each console, is not nec. slamming somone, yet that is usually the way it is interpreted by the fanboys, as it is a strike against the name they stand for.
This may be off topic, but it seems like things have finally cooled down. During the last month every article's comments had biased gamers slamming people for no reason, there would be like a dozen comments per minute and all would be yelling back and forth with no logic or fact backing any of their arguments. In the last couple of days it doesn't seem like this any more. 360 owners must be finally staying on boards and articles that are relevant to 360 and stopped looking to pick fights for no reason. Now we can all play are respective console(s) and be happy.

I just want to know when Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII & Tactics, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil 2 is coming.
Fardo_b proves once again that spell checking is a fine art - Good job buddy, maybe next time you should read what you write before you submit
How about some original content for the PSP for a change, rather than PS and PS 2 hand me downs? And Sony wonders why the PSP has a tough time outselling the GBA, let alone the DS...
Well, that's something, I guess. These are still pretty enjoyable racers, and I think they translate well to the handheld format.
Israels_Son I was thinking the same thing, they just recently said that they were focusing entirely on GT5 instead. I think they are just putting the trailer on there because its new content for the PS Store.
The PSP is designed around to play old PS1 games. If it was'nt then why did'nt they want people releasing old games on UMD? Its not a last minute idea they had it in the works for awhile me thinks.
wow sounds awsome and how do i get these for my psp since i dont have a ps3 and dont plan on buying one??? hmmmm thats the million $ question.
