UK Chart: Dead Space 2 claims number one
EA's sci-fi horror sequel enters the chart at number one, with launch sales up 70 percent on the original.
Dead Space 2 took the top spot in this week's UK sales chart, nudging Little Big Planet 2 into second place and continuing the trend for a new number one in each week of 2011 so far. Launch sales for the sci-fi horror sequel were up 70 percent on that of the well-received original game, which entered the chart at number six back in October 2008.
With Dead Space 2 the only new game in the top 10, the rest of the chart is a reshuffle: Little Big Planet 2 fell to number two with a 48 percent drop in sales, while FIFA 11 rose to number three with a 21 percent increase. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, fourth in the chart and with sales up 18 percent, snuck in above Call of Duty: Black Ops, which slipped to five, despite an 11 percent sales increase.
