UK Chart: FIFA 13 regains top spot, Wii U exclusives MIA

EA's football sim shows it can still kick it.

FIFA 13 has taken the No. 1 spot in the UK charts for the first week in 2013, knocking Christmas No.1 Far Cry 3 off the top spot. EA's latest football sim has never been outside of the top 4 since its release in September 2012.

Further down the list, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Hitman: Absolution, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted stand firm at third, fourth, and fifth, with Halo 4, Just Dance 4, Forza Horizon, Lego The Lord of the Rings, and Skyrim charting at 6 through 10.

For the third week running, no Wii U exclusives made the top 40. Wii U shares of multiplatform titles were also tiny: the Wii U version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II took just a 1 percent share of the game's weekly sales.

Britain has historically shunned Nintendo.  More proof that Brits are quite intelligent.  :)

 Im British, own a Wii U and love it. Can't wait for the AAA titles to start to come through, and they will... trust :-) Also Britain hasn't historically shunned Nintendo! The NES, Gameboy, SNES, DS and Wii have all been huge sellers here. Nice trolling fanboy, but not quite ;-)

Yeah people are still buying Wii Us at the moment, and there arent any very strong titles yet. Don't worry, we'll see another Nintendo centered chart soon. Let's not forget how long Just Dance and Mario & Sonic were in the charts!

The Wii U hasn't even reached 1 million worldwide yet. It is close but it's not going to be a marketforce for some time. So 1% of Black ops 2 sales for Wii U compared to PS3 and Xbox 360 versions with both console having 70 million strong sales. The UK folks seem continue to enjoy their soccer with Fifa taking top spot from Black ops 2.

hardly surprising fifa sells alot of units here and theres been no new games for the last week or 2 to keep it off the top spot

I'm so glad to see Far Cry 3 being so succesful. The game is truly amazing and it's one of the best games ever made. (my favorite after Halo 4, Uncharted 3, MGS4 and Super Mario Galaxy 2)

This is not a big surprise... the 2 years I lived in the UK I learned two things about the English people. Drink all day long and watch football.... basically the whole culture now.
