All I can say is its about friggin time! Mortal Kombat had DLC like right away and this took so long for even one additional character. Im relieved now since I thought they were not even going to release any additional characters. And the Dlc MvC3 had was "shadow battles".... not a great use for DLC In my opinion. I want to see some more classics brought back from MvC2. The roster could be huge if they were smart....

LOL! The fans shouldn't have to earn respect. Capcom has to earn our respect and trust. And right now it looks like there is two factions: those who love it and those who disapprove. I would have never expected MVC to have a group of people who disapproved; however the moves made warrants it. I am really shocked that some form of Mega Man, especially X isn't going to be in this game. Plus, rumor has it that there will be no DLC content and this came straight out of the horse's mouth. This is really scary stuff.

I'll just wait for the ultimatesuperhyper version that'll have 50 new characters and 30 new stages and even more new modes.

such a great thing now that I held out and didn't buy MvsC3 full price on launch week. I know for one Capcom games always drop in price fairly quickly, and they always remake stuff these days. Now this will be coming out not even a year later to correct the problems reviewers had with it, plus add 12 new characters for $20 less.

I agree with gavachotrece it really should be released as a DLC as well. Then again with 12 characters being added that might be a lot to download at once...

I'm really glad Capcom is making an update to MVC3, but they should offer this upgrade as DLC, as well as a disc-based game. Watching people fight matches online should have been in the original version of the game (which I payed $60 for), and honestly, the only new chars that really excite me are Ghost Rider & Strider. If Capcom releases this as a DLC update for those of us who bought the original game (which they SHOULD), I'm totally on board, but if they're going to stiff me and only offer the update in the form of a $40 disc, I'm out. There are plenty of better game purchases I could make with my $40 when I already own the original MVC3. However, if you are someone who didn't buy the original but was seriously considering it, this is good news for you :)

I know why dont you tell fans to send our copies exchange for the new copies with a small shipping fee. I have a feeling the game is going to fail just like the first one in terms of sales again and you guys will drop the DLC again.

Love the Franchise, but this is just the same thing Street Fighter 4 did. This sucks for people who already have the game, now my $60 game turns into $100 game WTF!!!! Cant you just make these changes to the game a download option???? New characters are great but let me choose what i want to pay for in the form of a DLC option, dont force me to buy a brand new game with some tweeks. Seems Greedy!!!! :{

@reyace It is just a matter of principal. Especially freedom of speech. If you want to voice your opinion, then tell em. Just like what you are doing at this very moment. I am a fan of Capcom; however the moves they have been making lately are not good. I will admit I enjoyed the updates for Street Fighter 4; however you would think Capcom would know when to draw the line when it comes to releasing games too soon and re-releasing games too often. Many didn't think this tactic would transition over to MVC. I know I didn't. I will still purchase Capcom games, but I will probably just refrain from buying Capcom fighting games after I get Third Strike: Online Edition until they finally get their priorities straight.

@TheArcade I saw your comment about the Black Panther. He would have made a great addition. What do you think about adding Black Cat and Kraven from the Spiderman series?

@Garland51 Of course it's dumb, why I was insulting Capcom for it since it's a huge **** move. I thought you edited to say they weren't DLC? Must have changed it back before I finished posting. But they weren't DLC in KOFXII, I should know since they were the characters I used in that game along with Leona. While XIII reuses sprites and 3 of the backgrounds (remixed though) it's still counted as a sequel, unlike this game, so even if they were DLC in XII it wouldn't be exactly the same thing. Of course that doesn't make Capcom any less of a jackass for leaving Jill and Gorath as DLC.

@TheDuskwalker: No offense, but I just think that having them as DLC again is kind of dumb at this point. At least by November when this newer version releases, they should be free. Plus Elizabeth & Mature were DLC for KOF XII, but not for KOF XIII. SNKP saw how pointless it was to have those two characters as DLC again. If SNK Playmore can make them regular playable characters again for KOF XIII, then why can't Capcom do the same thing with Jill Valentine & Shuma-Gorath for UMvC 3?

@garland51 It's already confirmed they are in fact still DLC in this version. Like I said alternate costumes from SFIV were still DLC characters in SSFIV, while not exactly the same, Capcom have already done something similar. Also I misquoted the press release first time, so I'm going to directly copy and paste it here so you know what I mean. "The Ultimate Roster: Twelve new legends from Marvel and Capcom join the fray, bringing the roster of characters on the disc up to 48, and a total of 50 with DLC." :lol: I was about to say Elisabeth and Mature weren't DLC in KOFXII.

If things aren't lookin so good with the roster and such, sorry, I'll probably be waiting a few months so I can get a cheaper used version or somethin. MvC 3 didn't really live up to my expectations set by MvC2. I can't see myself being nostalgic about this game.

yeah nice way to rip off customers capcom... first with street fighter and now this.... how much more bullsh*t does consumer have to put up with u guys... I feel sorry for people who got the game recently and have to deal with this new announcement....

Ghost Rider finally comes to play! Also love the fact they got Firebrand, Nemesis and Vergil joining the action too... Maybe it's a shame for them to milk their games, but atleast they're not making it $60 again...

@true_hurdler Get off your elitist high horse, cross-over fighting games like this are only great because the wacky, non-traditional fighters join in. Frank West has always been a popular choice, and fits right in alongside the likes of Viewtiful Joe and Amiterasu. And unfortunately for you, the roster was leaked today, and Frank West AND Phoenix Wright will be in this game, so YOU better get over it.

Apparently the full roster has been leaked: "The full roster: Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Dr.Strange, Nova, Iron Fist, and Rocket Raccoon for Marvel; Vergil, Phoenix Wright, Frank West, Firebrand, Strider, and Nemesis for Capcom." If this is to be believed than I am sad. Still, no Mega Man or Venom. I can't help but think that Capcom has decided to shun Mega Man from gaming now that Kenji Inafune has left the company. As for Venom...maybe they saw Spider-Man 3?

I never liked MvC3. I was always a Mortal Kombat fan, and love the new Mortal Kombat ALOT more then SSIV or MvC3.
