I own a PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and this is a reason to get a PS3. Thanks Naughty Dog. This game will rock. Gotta get myself a PS3. MGS4? Please, this is the real deal.
Latest Game Informer cover cinches rumors about Naughty Dog's next project, takes wraps off Pandemic's new action-adventure game.
Ever since the first footage from Naughty Dog's new game was shown at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo, rumors have swirled about its title. Now, the PlayStation 3 exclusive is nameless no more. Following months of very credible rumors, the latest cover of Game Informer magazine reveals that the Tomb Raider-like game will indeed be called Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
The latest issue of the Minnesota-based magazine also revealed something more surprising--the title and subject of one of Pandemic's mystery next-generation projects. According to Game Informer, the California studio is working on an all-new game called Saboteur. Though the magazine's online teaser only describes it as "an original take on World War II," unconfirmed reports say the game casts players as a member of the French Resistance during the 1940 to 1944 Nazi Occupation. (Beret and Sten gun not included.)
GameSpot will have more information on both Uncharted and Saboteur as it becomes available.
Pandemic really are up in arms these days. Destroy All Humans! 2 is a good seller over in the the UK, Mercenaries 2 is highly anticipated, and then we have this WW2 game which will probably be good too. Good for you, Pandemic!
The website for Saboteur has a countdown to Thursday, April 5. Must be when they make their big announcement. http://www.saboteurthegame.com/ Does anyone know who that chick is on the game's site when you move the mouse over the dynamite? She looks familiar. I'm not a big fan of the WWII shooters but I'm interested to see what Pandemic has under wraps.

Way to stay on topic sja28. No where did I see Devil May Cry in this story. These comments are to be used strictly for WWII bashing. :D
I hope "Uncharted' comes out next year when I finally decided to get a PS3. That game looks great. It looks like another must have exclusive for the PS3.
You know guys, the French actually have been one of the most "war-fare-willing" people in Europe, historically. Just look at someone like Napoleon or the french civil war in the 18th century or the many wars the french have fought with the brits. The french are indeed willing to fight and they are a honorable nation. Americans should respect that, because they too are indeed willing to fight.
Cmon guys, when was the last time the French were appreciated... ever? MoH underground was a decent game... over a decade ago. We need a new French Resistance game, not another Normandy one
an original take on WWII? Lemme guess, the Nazi's are really the good guys? Naughty's 5 years too late on fresh WWII games, they should scrap the project.
Naughty Dog are very talented developers so this game is a must watch for 2007. I'm excited to see how it turns out.
Naughty Dog has the skill to pull this game off, but I would like to see the main character design be revisted prior to the games release. He's not quite dressed for jungle romping. Although the game seems to portray him as some Indiana Jones inspired pop singer. Oh well, its only the first trailer and probably far from finished. As far as WWII is concered, its a great foundation for the structuring of a FPS, but that concept has been beaten up too much lately. I'm not going to rule it out but it'll have to have to have some heavy plot originality to hook me.
i still like the call of duty games, but from what ive heard the next call of duty game WONT be WWII based, could be awesome. i dont think we will ever get away from WWII in games, WWI perhaps or even vietnam. or go old school and have civil war games, who knows too many possibilities just wish these developers would take notice.
Based on what I saw of the trailer, this game will not really add anything new in terms of...anything. It looks just like a regular adventure game.
wow!!! Naughty Dog sure has come a LONG way from Way of the Warrior on 3D0. lol! i think i still have that somewhere...
Some things to note: 1. Uncharted is a Naughty Dog game and not a WW2 game in anyway. 2. The Pandemic announcement is a WW2 game and totally unrelated to the Uncharted game by Naughty Dog. 3. Gamespot really needs to split the two into their own news articles because I think people are starting to get confused. The two games hold no relavance to each other. 4. I share in the collective "yawn" when it comes to WWII games. Enough already...let's do original stories and settings please. 5. Other than foliage, Uncharted won't resemble Tomb Raider in anyway. Look at this if you have doubts: http://www.gentendo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73
The designers are called Naughty Dog? Weird coincidence. There is a very famous and good professional paintball team known as the Naughty Dogs. Anyway this game actually looks interesting, and much different than your generic WWII game you have played countless times. I'm going to have to keep an eye out on the development of this game.
WW 2... they do realize there are other wars right? how come it is WW 2 over and over again... unless there are alien demon nazis that can turn you into a vampire that has a unicorn horn... i am done with WW 2
