Wii U owners promised an exclusive Rayman Legends demo

Ubisoft posts on Facebook to say it understands why Wii U owners might be frustrated by the seven-month delay for Rayman Legends.
Last week Ubisoft simultaneously announced that its twice-delayed Wii U-exclusive Rayman Legends was being bumped from February to September and was also going multiplatform. Ubisoft has now said it will be offering an exclusive Rayman Legends demo for Wii U owners, and admits it understands why people might be frustrated by the delay.
"Thanks for all your feedback regarding Rayman Legends in all of its forms. We have heard you and we will continue to listen. We understand your frustration and that you want to get your hands on the game," said Ubisoft's Facebook page. Last week the publisher confirmed that the Wii U version of the game was ready, and the only reason behind the delay was to launch simultaneously across Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.
No date was given on when Wii U owners might be able to access the new demo. "We are working with the development team to provide you with a new, exclusive demo for the Wii U soon. Stay tuned for more."
There's already a Rayman Legends demo up on Wii U, which has been available since December 2012.
An anonymous Ubisoft developer has expressed their frustration with the delay, saying "for practical matters, you'll have to wait for some months for the game to be released and will most likely serve for more content to be added and do it better. For us, this means we've spent 6 months barely seeing our wives, kids, and friends for nothing because, after all, such a haste wasn't needed. Believe it, it was a hell to swallow these news."
Rayman Legends will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U in September 2013. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

I myself am an oldskool Nintendo fan, but I havent owned a Nintendo console since Gamecube... And If I did it wouldn't be because of Rayman... exclusive or not. I'd buy it because of Mario, and more important: Zelda and Metroid...

1 Like I do not want a special demo for wiiu users. I think that they should just keep it a wiiu exclustive and not make people wait so long for it to come out. why could they just not delay it until april or may not september.

Nintendo should have demanded a delay with Sega's "Aliens: Colonial Marines" until the Wii U version was ready. I am not a Nintendo fanboy either. I have PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, 3DS amd iPhone 5.

They were trying to rush it out for 2012 Christmas, but failed, so now it's delayed until 2013 Christmas.
I wish they'd release it for Wii U now, and prepare multiplatform releases for later. If not for the fans(which they obviously don't care about anyway), do it for the developers who worked so hard to make it to the February launch.
Maybe they know it's not that good and they want to sell it on all platforms at the same time to hook in as many suckers as possible. They can't do that if it's released on Wii U first and word gets around that it's not so great.
That's Ubisoft's M.O. They just want you to buy the game, after that they don't care about you. Look at how many Ubi games have critical issues they're not fixing and how bad people say their customer support is.
The people that sided with Bobby Kotick for being upset with the Wii U launch,, your point is invalid.

@UbisoftSucks I thought it was a pretty fun game. Try renting it when it comes out. You might like it. Ancel seems like a cool dude.
Now, is it Nintendos fault that this I'd how 3rd parties great their systems. I won't be getting this and it makes me not want to support ubisoft either.
@da_chub I have a feeling you won't have to worry about supporting them because they probably wont make to many games for the WiiU..
I am sure they will be fine though..seeing as how most of the Wii games in the past were for young kids..
They usually makes good games for real consoles.

Here's another way to look at how the Wii U owners have every right to be upset. Think of this - it's the end of August and you know GTA5 is coming out mid-September because that's what you've been told. You're excited that after years you get to play the next game. Weeks before release date you see an announcement online that the game, while complete, is delayed. Why? The publisher has decided they are going to wait to release the game for 6 months because they are working on a Wii U version and because MS says they have to release them together you have to wait 6 more months. Tell me you wouldn't be fuming just as we are! You'd be hating on Nintendo and Wii U owners even more than I'm already reading here.
Were people not upset about that when it happened? Did they try to make it better on 360 by releasing a 2nd demo to tide you over?

Whatever. It was to be a launch title, then it got pushed back and then again. The only point is that when things change people get upset. Leave it at that. Then there's the 'exclusive' demo they're putting out when we have one already. What is your point of putting down the Wii U all over the place here? As with anything dates change.
@JuleyJules They never promised you anything. Please stop adding words into their mouths to make it more of a tragic story. It was a release date..not a promise. You can take it how ever you want but any rational person that games knows that release dates change a lot.
My only point is that when promises are broken people get upset. It's human nature and that's it. Maybe in September it will be forgotten but for now it's the same as with GTA4 on 360. Simple as that.
