Wii will rock Guitar Hero
Activision's rhythm game phenomenon looks like it is headed to Nintendo's motion-sensing console; DS version also appears to be planned.
Though the litigation-inspiring Guitar Hero controller already has some limited motion-sensing functionality, it appears it is about to get much more. Buried in yesterday's Activision conference call was an easily missed nugget of info that will literally be music to Nintendo fans' ears: It looks like Guitar Hero is coming to the Wii--and the Nintendo DS.
Speaking to analysts following a robust preliminary earnings report, Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith laid out some of his company's plans for its 2008 fiscal year. Much like its archrival Electronic Arts, the Santa Monica, California-based publisher is ramping up support for Nintendo's two popular platforms.
"In fiscal 2008, we'll double our offerings on DS and the Wii," said Griffith, "including Spiderman, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero." (Emphasis added.)
Unfortunately, that was all Griffith said regarding the DS and Wii Guitar Heroes, meaning they could come out any time between April 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008. Presumably, Tony Hawk studio NeverSoft will be handling development of one or both titles.
Whens it come out for ds already, i already have it for 360 and it owns but i wanna know how theyre making it for ds
yo this game is awesome and yes it has online play and no the wiimote is not the guitar. that would defeat the whole purpose of the game.
at willy u could proly use the touch screen to strum
Judy Nails Is Hot
So will the Wii version have online play?
I found this cool news on the internet it sayed guitar hero DS will have a mini fret board with five buttons, that attaches to the DS. There was no word on how to strum.
stubbydude2, the guitar for the wii is gonna be like all the other guitars except it has a wiimote put in the guitar
Is the controller for Guitar Hero III on the Wii going to be a guitar? Or are we gonna have to use the Wiimote in a coward way.
Yes! finally! I was was going to get number 2 for the X-Box 360 when I got the 360 (but I had a wii and was hoping the Wii got it too) Now I can wait and get a newer version plus it's for a system I already own. The DS version also seems intresting. I cna just play number 2 at my friends house.
I think this will be great for Nintendos little system. A great third party game could make many more developers look at the Wii and put some solid non-mini-game collections for this system. Oh, and I also love Guitar Hero and the Wii. I'm literally typing this on the Wiis' internet browser right now.
THRILLED FOR THE WII VERSION!!! Hope they put in some exclusive stuff in the wii version since GH hasn't been on a Nintendo console before.
I can't wait for the Wii version! I'm probably not getting the DS version cause u probably have to press like A,B,Y,X,L,R buttons and strum with the stylus, but you can't really expect that much from a portable rythm game can you?
They better have some different songs than the other versions that are out, otherwise there would be no real reason to get this game on DS. If it comes with a guitar controller, the game won't really be portable. I doubt people on the bus, or people at your local Starbucks, would put up with listening to the constant clicking of the Guitar Hero controller.
I cant wait for the wii version its going to be sweet!:)
if all you can do on the DS is use the D-Pad we all should turn to the nearest living thing and punch it in the face. Then storm the gates of the games creators and spraypaint their dogs polka-dotted.
i swear if they make the ds version where you just tap the dpad to hit notes... i'm gonna punch the nearest person to me in the face. but... on the other hand... how else would nintendo make a controller? would it be a guitar that's only like 2 inches long or somethin?
i see a lot of raggin on a nintendo themed bonus, but i mean...how about zora link from majora's mask? with that killer skeleton bass. i dunno if its just me but i think thatd be a kikasss bonus. not everything in nintendo land revolves around that fat plumber
lol Jfresh
I have the same fear that the game will have some stupid nintendo franchise character like Mario or even worst, another DK game. Otherwise I am stoked to see if this comes into light within the next few months. Def. buy.
hopefully it comes out before that Stupid Date of 2008
My biggest fear with the development of this game? Imagine: Guitar Hero III: Mario Mix
2008 :( long time from now.
Origamidave: Yeah that would be sweet!
Now what would be cool, is if they made Guitars exactly like the PS2 ones that attached into the wiimote so they'd be wireless. You could have two of those, and then have the remaining 2 wiimotes be someone on the drums like in that pre-Wii promotion video...
i can see this being one use for the everybody votes channel, let the fans have a say in some of the more major songs in the game, or to some extent have an influence
how the hell r they makin it 4 the ds i dont wanna carry a guitar on the bus so i can play guitar hero
sweetness...
w00t!
why have 59 peaple rated it? how do peaple have it as now playing and in colection if its not out?
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME can't wait that is going to be SWEET!!!!
I wonder...will it be the same game as the PS2 version besides the new motion controls?
??? k.
Man... I am Going To Get That Super Shweet Game......SHWEET!!!!!!!
Awesome Awesome Awesome
ALRIGHT... i dont care..the minute it comes out for the Wii ill get it!
AWESOME CAN"T WAIT!!!!!
Isn't the X-box 360 controller going to be wireless as well. I think the DS version mught be a little wierd
i shall buy this friggin awesome game if it only comes with the guitar, if not..then XD
They will really have to work hard so they don't totally miss with the motion sensor. I always gets bugged when playing boxing on wii sports. The wii just don't get my movements rigth. However if they succeed it will be a major success and it will be two thumbs up for the wii. You have to get a plug-in guitar-controll for the other games, while for this one the only thing you need is what you already have. Taken that in count, nintendo really has a smart strategy of how to beat xbox and playstation when it comes to sales.
Uh oh. This doesn't sound like good news. I mean, I LOVE Guitar Hero, but on the Wii? I hope they can get this one right.
i just wana say that if they are putting Guitar Hero on the Wii it may not be the Same Guitar Hero, For all we Know if it comes out for the 2008 Fiscal year it could be a whole New Guitar Hero. Im not all that excited about Guitar Hero for the DS only because playin with the Guitar is what makes Guitar hero fun. People may think its going to be hard to utilize the controller but it will be easier than it seems though still with a few difficulties.
I hate people who think that when games like this that started out on other consoles come to the wii, then its going to be an instant failure.
nice
BraindeadRacr Wii gets Guitar Hero? What's next? Halo for PS3? Maybe you are really braindead. That's a stupid comment.
Cool can't wait to see ds version
BraindeadRacr "Wii gets Guitar Hero? What's next? Halo for PS3? " Man that's absolutely stupid
The Neskimos Better be in it.
I'm not too up-to-date with this game. Will we be able to download songs off of the Internet on Wii?
Make sure you can hook your ipod to the wii and play it...thats to the people who are making it!
Sweet. I'd like to play Wiitar hero!
