Ok, I would much prefer him still being alive he is an awesome character, but u know what I want the developers to do is make the game a little more difficult because in the last game you have issues in the first mission when you have to go down and kill a bunch of guys however later on in the game it got alot easier and i found i dont need to use traps or anything just swing and hit. did u also feel this lack of difficulty further in 

Witcher 2 is one of the most epic RPGs ever made, especially among the top 3 since PS3, 360, Wii came out. Despite this Witcher 2 only sold 330K units in North America and just 600K globally on the Xbox 360, with its 75 million userbase!!!

Xbox 360 14-year old fans rather salivate over ugly looking rehashes after EA/Activision throw $100 million marketing campaign with celebrities at their faces (COD *cough* *cough*). I suppose the mature story line, sex scenes and actually some challenge in Witcher 2's enemies (looking at you Skyrim's dragons) are too complex for the console's mainstream audiences. 

CD Projekt RED should just launch Witcher 3 on the PS4. Maybe the game will find a real audience among adults!

Unfortunately unless they change the combat system, it's going to be 30 times the pain in the ass. I loved The Witcher's lore, it's style and it's characters, but that combat NEVER got good. 2 was an improvement over 1, but it was still a janky mess. About halfway through Witcher 2 I stopped playing, because there were other games equally interesting but with better combat that stole my attention away, and I never went back. I can't imagine trying to play through an open-world version, nevermind one that's 30 times the content.

The end is never the end.  The world of the witcher can always be reopened at some point in the future, no matter what a company executive says.  For that matter, the creator of the witcher books may take his IP to another game company to continue making games.  I find it hard to believe, that when there's money to be made, that no one will just stop using of a popular IP for profit.  However, it does appear they aren't going to milk the Witcher the way say Activision milks COD.

I would like to see the Witcher 1 ported to consoles, or maybe included in a collectors edition disc for the console release of W3.

My only concerns with W3 are the travel times (40 minutes on horseback from one end to another).  I hate traveling espeically in previously cleared areas, so hopefully they put in teleports. Further, I hope they don't lose the story element of the W2 in favor of the meandering elements of the Elder Scrolls.

To those who thinks wild hunt is a stupid name, play the previous two games and understand the story then you'll know what it means. For a brief summary, read PcGamer4Ever1 comment below.

For newbies , The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a perfect title name . Wild Hunt is not a verb here , it doesn't mean going out in open world and hunt wild animals (LOL) . Wild Hunt is noun , it is the name of spectral riders that come from another world and abduct young humans and only few people believe this . Most of the people in The Witcher universe believes it to be myth . Geralt had encountered Wild Hunt many times in the past but it's all mystery for him because of his Amnesia . According to Enhanced Edition of TW 2 (Chapter 3 , Iorveth's path , Cynthia the nilfgaardian sorceress) Geralt was one of the riders of the Wild Hunt . The title Wild Hunt means that everything will be revealed about The Wild Hunt in The Witcher 3 .

Even though I have just started playing The Witcher 1, I am a bit saddened that the next game is the last Witcher game. Although, that's merely a selfish sadness of wanting more of something I love. I understand that the series can't go on forever without the quality suffering and it's also good for CD Projekt Red (as well as any company, actually) to not be stuck with the same franchise indefinitely, like some companies are. The employees needs some variety too, it's not just something we gamers crave, and I do look forward to Cyberpunk 2077.

The most awesome news is that CDPR will keep on making games but won't keep on milking the Witcher brand.

I would actually be impressed if they made no witcher games after this one. It would show they're dedication to making games rather than selling out for the money like most companies do. The Witcher 3 will probably sell more than The Witcher 2 so the temptation is to keep making them.

witcher is one of the best rpgs that i ever played

i can certainly see the reasons behind this decision but i can't help but feel sad to know that Witcher 3 will be the last Witcher game

the witcher is one of the last few great rpgs we have left. so let's appreciate it.  it's a great franchise.

A trilogy is an excellent length for a good story. You the prologue (first game) that establishes the setting and motivates the hero (also known as a "call to action"). The second installment brings back our beloved characters and more fully develops them, rather than having to establish the setting as much. Then you have the final, climactic third installment that wraps up the loose ends and delivers a satisfactory conclusion.

At least in an ideal world...anyway.

Since it's the last one and you know it will sell well, why not put it on the PS3? Or does M$ have the rights to it? 

Good news is Witcher 3 is inspired from Skyrim ....:D
