X06: XBL smacked down by demo
Demo for WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw 2007 rumbles onto Marketplace; Tony Hawk, Wheelman trailers also now available.
With one day remaining in Microsoft's X06 event and week-and-a-half-long Bringing it Home promotion, gamers are keeping their eyes glued to Xbox Live Marketplace for downloadable content from their most anticipated games. For those looking forward to having a go with THQ's WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2007, today was finally their lucky day.
A 1.06GB demo of the upcoming wrassler has dropped from the top rope and onto Xbox Live Marketplace. The trial lets two playable wrestlers--Triple H and Kane--compete in one-on-one exhibition matches. The full ring entrances have been included, as has the option to fight clean or dirty. Those hoping to slam buddies across Xbox Live will have to wait for the retail game to hit stores in November--an online mode was given the three-count in the demo.
Also released today were trailers for Activision's Tony Hawk's Project 8, Midway Games' The Wheelman, and THQ's Frontlines: Fuel of War. Gamers can also give their Xbox a makeover with Fable 2 and X06 themes for the 360's dashboard. The previously released content packs for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are also now available in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain.
Tomorrow is the final day for the Bringing it Home promotion. Gamers had better get their download on, as Microsoft previously that said much of the content that has gone up as part of the promotion will be available only through tomorrow.
